I just saw some mention of problems with the waxed leather on another thread, and I wanted to know what your experience was with it. It seems every time I decide on a bag, I read that there are problems with the leather! Argh! First I wanted a metallic bag, then most advised against it (and I agree), and now I finally decided on a Poppy bag, and see there is some problems with that! Any feedback? Thanks!

I have a poppy glam tote in this leather and I have used it everyday for about a month now with no problems at all. And I don't think I baby my bags. I use it as a work bag and I put my macbook air inside everyday. I have noticed a bit of wear on the handles -- I tend to carry it with one hand to and from work. But I am fussy and I probably only noticed it because I am a bit compulsive that way. I recommend this leather, at least in the black, and I am thinking about getting another bag in a summer color. I haven't noticed any scratches like others have......maybe it's because I have a dark color?

I have the Poppy Pushlock satchel. I will say there is some wear on the corners, I have it in Camelia. I bought the bag last year and wore it pretty much all summer, except on weekends when I'd change to a smaller bag. I put it away in Sept 2011 and haven't had it out since. If you want to see pictures, just let me know.

I have a black poppy rocker in this leather and have had no problems. I wonder if some colors are more prone to issues....? But I do baby my bags and also switch out all the time.

I think it tends to look blotchy. That is what the camellia color looked like to me when I saw it in the store. I think it is supposed to look like that but I like things to look new and even. It reminds of furniture that has been antiqued. It might look better in the darker colors.

When I looked at the bags at the store recently, all the colored ones were scratched like crazy. The black ones were totally fine though. Not sure why the black is so much more durable.

I have it in the city willis...to me it seems blotchy and uneven...but I am anal

I also had this issue as well with my sunflower Willis, and I had to swap it out. The second one I got was much better, and I am happy with it.

I do like the distressed leather, and it kind of reminds me of Bal leather, but it seems to be prone to color fade and wear for sure.

Hi, glad to see you back! I ordered the Sunflower sight unseen from your picture. Thanks, lol. Mine was very even and it is very pretty, just like the picture you posted and true to color. I also got the blue and white colorblock right from JAX after seeing my SA's in person that she carried that day with my credit and then I did use the rest of my credit for the yellow . I do really like them. I see that some blues in the store are already scratched, but they do look very much like the distressed leather in the Bal bags I wanted so badly and no one seems to mind at all. I made up my mind that I am just going to use them and not be looking for distressing. They are cute for spring and we never paid much attention to the legacy scratches that appeared so quickly that we are longing for to come out. They scratched like crazy, except maybe the black. I never did get whiskey and it was much heavier for me. Good to have you back!!! :smile1:
