Is turnlock in my Chanel crooked?

I have a classic flap knob that is slanted exactly like that which I also discovered after peeling the sticker off. The good news is Chanel can easily fix it, all they have to do is turn it a little (ask your SA to confirm this with Chanel repair). So maybe someday if you ever need to send your bag in for repair for a different reason, you can add this to the list, as I wouldn't send it just for this reason alone. It bothered me initially but I quickly got over it because seriously nobody can notice it but me. Even I've forgotten about it now. It's less apparent when it's stuffed with your items. Come to think of it, I think I only have one or two bags that are perfectly aligned, the rest have tiny but of gaps or slants.

Thank you so much for your response ❤️ Can you please show me your turnlock?

See how the turning knob is tilted left a little. But nooooo one can notice that but me. If your bag overall is perfect, enjoy it.
Yes, I can see that. It looks similar to mine. Were you thinking of doing something about it? Did you contact your SA when you realized? All in all it doesnt bother me that much, however when I think about the price I start to get mad. We shouldnt accept anything but perfect

Certainly because of the price I was annoyed. I think I had paid $8k+. My SA spoke to Chanel repair team in France and they called it a "defect" and asked me to send it for repair. It's an easy repair. I decided I'll send it in when other things will also need fixing. The leather on this bag is exactly to my taste, the rest of it is really perfect. I knew I would have trouble finding similar leather again or that the next bag would have a problem that is potentially not repairable, so I kept it. So you gotta pick and choose what you can live with, they all have one imperfection or another. Was it hard for you to track down a mini?

You are so right. I am also hesitant to exchange it. I would be worried that the next one will have a flaw that is even worse. And I agree - this kind of defect is easy to fix. The rest of the bag is perfect, I also like the leather and am happy that it was made in France, not in Italy - somehow it was important to me. So I am very torn. I wanted it to be perfect - especially for this price. However I also know that the next bag can also have something.
Regarding if it was hard to get it - I think I was lucky. I went to Chanel first time in my life and there it was! So my mind goes in few directons. Either I was very lucky or noone wanted this bag becsuse the turnlock was crooked. But with the sticker on it was really hard to notice that. So who knows.

No, believe me this specific bag will be snatched up the second you return it. :) Most people would never notice these little details the way we do. 😂 I've asked my sil to examine it for me and she was like "I don't know what you're talking about" !!

So I spoke with my SA. She told me that I can return it in 4 weeks. However I want this bag, but the perfect one, so she suggested that she will let me know when next mini like this arrives so I could exchange it. She also said that she is sure that she wont have a problem to sell it to anyone else which made me feel weird, like I am losing something. I hope that she will get another one, perfect and also Made in France. The only problem is that I have to drive 4 hours one way to different country - where I live we don’t have chanel boutique. But I am willing to make that sacrifice. Unfortunately I think that I will never unsee this turnlock being crooked… She didnt admit that it was crooked, probably she didnt want to or cant. So fingers crossed. I hope that I won’t wait too long so I can still exchange it. But to be honest I am still torn. I love this bag, I don’t want all that hustle… I just want a perfect bag 🫠

Do they ever make these in Italy?

I will always carefully examine my bag before purchasing and after I bring it home. I try to not scrutinize it 24/7 though because if you scrutinize something enough, you will almost always find something wrong…

Good luck to you. I really hope you find your perfect Chanel.

My SA called me few days ago that she has a new bag form me to exchange the previous one! I am so happy. But there was one interesting thing - she told me that she doesnt see that it was crooked. Maybe she cannot admit out loud that the turnlock was faulty. But nevermind now ❤️ There she it
