Is this the norm for recent Chanel straps?

My black flap I bought ten years ago I can’t even tell where it connects and disconnects but it seems so obvious for my new beige flap. Could you let me know if this is something that’s a defect or would bother you?

It seems like this way of fastening the ends of the leather is becoming more and more common these days. I have this on a couple of my newer bags. I vastly prefer the old style because to me it just looks janky to have what looks like such a big gap between the links where the ends are stitched, but I wouldn't not buy/keep a bag I otherwise liked because of it. Like so many other new developments with Chanel these days, it's annoying, but not much can be done about it.

Totally normal. That's where the two pieces of the strap join. Now sometimes Chanel does a better job than others at "finishing" the ends, but that "join" you're seeing is perfectly correct.

I've seen this on all flaps. I don't have any vintage classic flaps but I do wonder if/how they made it less obvious?

Some finishes are better in that the end part that sticks out is tucked in better, or the raw leather is glazed. But the juncture that shows where the two ends of the leather 'string' meets: that will always be there.

I see. good to know this is normal. thanks all!

The black flap, I have no idea where it ends or starts so I don't know how they did it. I can't find it so can't take a pic. It would a lot neater like this.

Hi I just brought a new chanel. Classic flap & in some instances the leather in the chain appears to be extremely loss. As a result keeps getting tangled/twisted. Is this normal if so how can I combat? Or is it a defect? Any opinions will be appreciated. Thank you

Hello beautiful ladies, I’m a newbie here and I just bought my Chanel double flap dream bag a month ago. And I brought her out today for the first time but I noticed this in the strap, is it normal? I texted my SA and he said it’s an easy fix that he can do it for me.
