I am not an authenticator, but that looks like one of the knockoffs you can get in Korea. I received one many years ago from my love who was in the military and didn’t know any better.

It still looks like a nice bag to pick up at a thrift store though!! (not condoning fakes here) But since you already bought it, I hope you can enjoy it! And I hope an actual authenticator can give an accurate statement!

IT DOESN'T LOOK ANYTHING LIKE A KOREAN FAKE !!! PLEASE DO NOT TRY TO GIVE ADVICE BASED ON A GUESS OR TO AUTHENTICATE, EVEN WITH A "i'M NOT AN AUTHENTICATOR"DISCLAIMER !!! TPF rules state:
"The PurseForum requests that only members with an extensive knowledge of the brand and authenticating who have over 500 posts participate as authenticators in this AT thread. The moderators reserve the right to remove authentications that do not meet these requirements."

Point new posters over to the Authenticate This Coach thread and let the experienced members handle it. Thanks for trying to help, but it can do more harm than good if the advice is wrong.

PLEASE DISREGARD THE OTHER POSTER'S COMMENT. I BELIEVE YOUR BAG IS GENUINE.

Rather than chase you to the AUTHENTICATE THIS COACH thread which is where youir post belongs and where QUALIFIED authenticators could have looked at it I'm going to ask you to post one more photo. Please take a clear readable close-up of the magnetic snap that closes the top, just the "male" part with the letters and numbers stamped on it.

And please don't accept any authentications in any tPF forum unless the responder has "Authenticator" under their ID.

Don’t be rude and use all caps. I’ve been here awhile myself (note the gold “OG” under my name). I do know the rules.

I did NOT try to authenticate in any way, if you re-read my post thoroughly.

I’ve NEVER been rude to anyone on this forum in the 13 or so years I’ve been here, and nobody has EVER said anything rude to me before.

One more thing, the bags my military dh brought from Korea looked exactly like the real deal, not cheap in any way.

Maybe there is a negative connotation with “Korean” or something, but Korea has talented tailors and skilled craftsmen that make custom suits and high quality fashion design. The “”Coach”” leather bags I received were virtually identical to the real deal. The only way I could tell the difference was the leather tag, and I asked dh if he had been to the real coach store, and he told me no. Note that this was 25 years ago. So my comment was in no way meant to be negative. It was to say, “Wow, you would never know if the bag was real or made by a Korean crafter because it can be hard to tell the difference.”

Don’t be rude and use all caps. I’ve been here a lot longer than you, dear. See the gold “OG” under my name?

I'm sorry for blowing my stack, but consider this:
When someone is a brand new poster, they have no clue that the advice they're getting may not be valid. People have destroyed alleged fakes or contacted sellers or left negative FB on Ebay based solely on a piece of bad advice or incorrect authentication, we';ve seen it happen before at Ebay and their Fashion Board.

As for Korean fakes, I wrote the book on the subject and have been reporting them and warning posters here and at other forums for almost 15 years. Search tPF for "Korean fake" in the Coach section and see how many of those posts are mine, especially the older ones. One of my earlier posts, possibly my first on that subject, is here:
https://forum.purseblog.com/threads/coach-leatherware.101730/
Here's another, specifically mentioning a Bleecker Tote which is the style of the bag in the original post:
https://forum.purseblog.com/threads/authenticate-this-coach.214855/page-444#post-6290695

There are 242 more posts by me that mention Korean fakes. I also mention them in the Salearea Guides.

BTW, the "Authenticator" under my name takes precedence over a gold OG. If statistics are important, I've been here 7 months longer, check my profile and my post count if numbers are important.

I said in the comment I am not an authenticator and that I hope an authenticator can help her. I’ll keep your suggestions in mind for the future. ☮️
People who have been here a long time should be nice to each other. We are a purse family.

The problem I see with your comment is that the original poster may not have seen any comments other than your first comment. She may have decided from your comment that it was fake and never came back to find out the truth.

True, true, I understand. The response I received was quite harsh, however. I need to remind myself that there are newer members here who may need more specific instructions as to how to request proper authentication. Thank you for the reminder.

Hi!
A couple things, if I may ;)

If a thread is posted in incorrect place, please report it so we can handle it swiftly and no one needs to be involved or upset.
Also, only approved authenticators can offer authenticity opinions on tPF.
Finally, authenticity questions and answers should only be in the provided Authenticate This threads we've provided.

Sometimes delivery is key, reading things online offers no warm connection, we can't see body language or hear tones and inflections. Always a good idea to try and be as kind as possible IMO.
