Is this a glazing issue?

I also had glazing issues with a 2014 empreinte montaigne, I went to the store and they told me that as the bag was not within the first year it would be a paid repair. It is 200 euros to replace both handles, I was also told that they could adjust the price (lowering it) depending on what the opinion of the repairs specialists in France is.

Glad to see that I’m not the only one having issues. I noticed my SC cobalt with the pink glazing was melting and had stuck to the bag itself. It’s also rubbed off onto a jacket so that’s damaged too. Mentioned it when I was in today and they told me to bring it in as it will only get worse but to be prepared that it will probably not be back and I’ll need to buy a new bag with a credit. I am gutted.

To make matters worse I bought quite a few bags in 2014 and 3 of them have coloured glazing and each one is in a different stage of melting and being damaged. One I’ve used quite a bit so not too bothered but the SC and the Fluer (which is also showing issues) are hardly used. I can count on one hand how many times they’ve been used. If I had to return all 3 it would £7,140 at least to have to spend. To say I’m not best pleased is an understatement. I don’t really know what I want to buy either.

I’m guessing the reason it can’t be fixed is due to the fact that they know there was an issue and have been unable to resolve it. Not what I expected to be honest.

My montaigne went in for repairs about 1,5 weeks ago. I was quoted €200 to change both handles.
They said it should take up to 8 weeks but it might take longer due to the holiday season. I’ve had other bags sent out for repair and they were never returned to me as they were deemed defective.

Just an update, I was advised that it may be deemed defective and although the glazing had only just started to melt its as deemed defective and a refund or a replacement bag was offered.

I have to say on a bag that I had 4 years and 4 months to have that kind of service in terms of options was fantastic. I don't know many other designers that would make that offer. At least they hold their hands up and admit when there has been an issue and make it right one way or another.

Subscribing. I have a 2013 DE that I bought pre-loved with receipt. There are no glazing issues, but I am mentally prepared for it to happen someday. I hope the receipt (with the original owner's name cut out) will protect me if something should come up.

It’s possible it won’t melt, I have a Montaigne bb in Iris made around the same time as all the recalls and its in perfect condition! Not all bags made have the issue apparently. Who knows for sure, but I hope your bag has no issues in the future!

Hi all,

I'm new here, but I hope you can help me with a glazing issue on my Neverfull bag.
This bag was bought one year ago in Switzerland. For this moment handles and edges of bag look ugly for me and I actually don't know what exactly shoul I do.
My questions are just below
1. Can it be repaired at all? If so, is it a warranty case or no?
2. I'm from Belarus and we have no LV stores in our country. I also have no plans to visit Switzerland one more time, but I'll be in Chicago and NYC during New Year's holidays. Should I take my bag to USA and leave it for their assesment procedure or is it better to go with this problem in europenean store? As I know they have different databases of buyers, but I still have a receipt.
3. We have almost two months till holidays and I probably can damage my bag even more during this time, so what can I do now to save my bag?
4. What else could you advise me?

1. It can be repaired. There is no such thing as warranty in LV. Every item is reviewed on a case by case basis. They can either reglaze or replace the handles. And they can replace the trim. this looks like normal wear and not a glazing issue.
2. Yes. But you will have to make sure getting your bag sent away in the US means you can still get your bag back. Shouldn't be a problem, but I think you should call the store you purchased from and ask what your options are.
3. Nothing, if you're concerned about further damage then get it repaired right away.

So my bag was sent for assessment it has been deemed faulty glazing and unable to be fixed ... I have been offered a credit for it
Just curious, did they ask for a receipt? I've been reading conflicting information (sometimes they ask for receipt, sometimes they dont). I would like t buy a pochette metis preloved, but not if I'm going to have glazing issues that cannot be repaired because I dont have the receipt
