See if this approach works; otherwise, you can always copy and paste from pdf file (I think):

1) at the bottom of this screen, click on 'go advanced'

2) new screen will appear....click on browse to select your file

3) once file is selected, double click and file will appear on browse field. Click on 'upload'

4) once file is uploaded, close screen

5) click on 'submit'

I've already got a 2ct F VS1 stone so i really want to bigger stone, it seems to be a great buy thats why i am considering it

I agree, I've heard the same thing about EGL. The price is determined by the specs and if the cert is not reliable you could be overpaying. Is there a way you can request a different cert like GIA? If they want your business they should be willing to send it off to GIA. Or you can split the cost with them. Just an insurance for a big ticket item like this. Come back and show us modeling pictures. Good luck.

hmmm, there's a nifty, non-biased, dimaond calculator that scientifically evaluates how well the cut is based on measurements and it indicates that the girdle is dangerously thin based on the measurements you gave, specifically the depth %. It's a pretty reliable calculator, people defer to it when buying online and they can't see the stone first, they know if the score comes back good on this calculator that the stone will be a high quality cut.
You gave 13% for crown height, is there another number around 34-sh that is also a crown measurement?

one thing i also learned from pricescope is that you have to consider the nature of the inclusion and its location because that can very well affect the durability of the stone.diamonds can also chip...

Whack the specs in and see what it says.

$58K is an amazing price for a 5ct, but i'll never buy an EGL, and at that price, i wouldn't have high hopes that it's good quality. As most people have said, i think EGL have a more lenient grading system than GIA, so an S2 EGL might equal and I1 or I2 by GIA Standards

I was quoted a 2ct E VS1 Ex Ex Ex Non Flourescent GIA for approx AUD$40K and kicked myself for not getting it as it was beautiful

Can you do a screenshot of the opened PDF EGL Cert and post it up here?

DH & i attended our local gem show this past wknd and were considering a 5.25 ct princess G color VS1 GIA cert for $126k (wholesale price). we also looked at a 5.96 ct cushion I color VS1 with a HDR cert for around $116k (wholesale). both have excellent cuts, no flourescent. there was also a 8 ct (faces up 10 cts) princess I color SI1 with EGL cert for 90k (wholesale). nice and "affordable" if you want that HUGE diamond look, but not what DH and i consider an investment diamond, so we passed.

Thanks girls for all your inputs, I've decided to go ahead with it and just received the ring yesterday, it is stunning, I can barely see the feather as its pretty well covered by the claws, I am really pleased
