is there a real difference between anthracite and black?

I finaly received the bag.
I like the style and the size, it's a PT O8 charcoal and it looks defenitly grey and NOT black, great.
BUT the leather looks so craky/dry like if it would broke next week.

Should I mustorize it and than deperlant it? This bag is going to ruin me if I have to put thing on it several thimes a year. I thought that for the prize the leather would be less fragile.

Can you post a photo? Both of my 08 charcoals are soft with no white, ashy veins. The charcoals have been fairly consistent here in the US, not sure about overseas.

LA Francaise: the crackly dry look is somewhat normal on most balenciaga bags. It's the "distressed" look that Bbags are known for. I personally moisturize my bags... with either Apple Guard Lotion or Lovinmybag's Pro-treatment. Moisturizing will help.

If you're not use to the look.. sit on it for a few days.. and if it still bothers you.. exchange it for the LV. It's quite a large amount of $$ to spend on something if you're not feeling 100% about it.

fyi: LV's are structured... Balenciaga's are known for non-structured.. puddley, smooshy bags.

goOd luck and keep us updated~!

I think the bag looks beautiful! I agree with oogie... leather moisturizer (not lubriderm or human skin care lotion) should help soften and minimize the veiny appearance. My marine SGH PT had some dry areas and with repeated use of leather moisturizer (apple leather care is great as are leather wipes by Weiman), those areas have softened and feel less crackly.
