Is there a magic number for a balanced stack?

Here is my stack of 4…which often looks like 3 haha.

The d’amour is subtle and often hidden. Since I’m not normally a diamond person, I wanted to add a small little one and have it as kind of a “peekaboo”.

So I personally think even numbers can be done, just depends on the bracelets.

I was wondering about this as I eventually would like to add a D’Amour bracelet to my stack. Thanks for the photos!

I began stacking a little over a year ago and I have my “core” stack. I like 2,3 and then I jump to 5. 4 bracelets seems odd to me; I am wearing a 4th bangle but I have since switched that to my left wrist. No idea why. Thing is, two are Cartier and one of Tiffany and though I think they look good, now I am thinking that I might do an all Cartier and an all Tiffany stack. Not fully set on that idea yet.
Here is my current core stack:

I recently sold my small JUC, and used to wear it on my right wrist with my small and regular Loves. But now that I just have the 2, I actually like the way it looks a lot better than it did with the small JUC. So I think wearing an even number, like 2, is not necessarily a bad thing. It's all subjective. It depends if YOU like how it looks.

I work in a creative field where the “rule of thirds” is foundational, so yes, to odd. We also mix and balance scale and proportion that’s pleasing to the eye, so yes, I also agree size and texture are factors, but there is a “je ne sais quoi” that brings it all together - whether it’s an element of playfulness (for example) that truly depends on personal style and taste.

In landscaping also it is recommended to plant in odd numbers, 1, 3, or 5, so clearly there is something about odd numbers that works well visually. Although I have to say, several of the pictures with 2 or 4 bracelets show that even numbers can be beautifully done when balanced well.

I usually wear three but I am considering adding one more, the Etincelle, to make it four. Since the one I want to add is slimmer than the others, the three still dominate and look cohesive. So I think it just depends on how the pieces are arranged.

To be honest, I think it is less about the actual number per se and more about cohesiveness and aesthetic pairings of the pieces. I find many stacks to be a jumble of different things and they don’t look aesthetically pleasing, whether that number be three or two. I also think sizing plays a huge factor as some people wear mismatched sized bracelets, which detracts from the look. These are all just my individual thoughts though. At the end of the day, wear what makes you happy.
