I'm pretty sure I saw in person recently and the strap did not look that long..yet online they have a picture of it being worn cross body? Anybody buy it?

I don't have one, but I have seen pics of people wearing them crossbody. It probably depends on how tall you are, if this will work for you. I love the stewardess, and hope to own one myself one day!

I often wear my Stewardess crossbody. The strap is adjustable and I find it a comfortable crossbody bag. Mine is one of the older, original Stewardess bags so I can't speak for the new Coach Classic version, but it is probably the same.

when you get a chance can you model it? Not anytime soon, no worries LOL just curious as to what it looks like.

Yea I saw it and its so gorgeous. I would love all these vintage bags in a nice red or plum!

^yeah, it's huge! I tried it on in store and it was just too much bag for me, but it sure is beautiful! I didn't have it on it's longest length but I'm sure it could be worn messenger. But on me ( I'm 5'6" with a long torso), I'm not sure it would've hung as long as I would've liked for a messenger.

The stewardess is bigger than most of the vintage bags but it is still smaller than many of the modern BIG bags; but it is sturdy and wider than a lot of hobos and it holds a lot. On the coach website they list the dimensions of the Stewardess bag as:

11" by 10" by 4.5" with a 36" adjustable strap.

^the 36" strap explains why it felt like it wouldn't have been long enough for ME to wear it crossbody. I have to have at least a 47" strap on a bag for it to be crossbody and fall at the top of my hip. I assume if someone had a shorter torso they could wear this one crossbody. it is one absolutely beautiful bag!

I am short and very short-waisted so it is not a problem for me to wear it crossbody.

The original/Coach classics version of the Stewardess style number 9525 has a long enough strap that it could be worn crossbody by someone who isn't too busty or full figured. The Net-A-Porter reissue style number 17996 has a shorter strap.

I'm eyeing this one because it's so classic. Nothing like seeing and trying it in real life but unfortunately they don't seem to carry it in the local boutiques.

Keep checking your boutiques! About a week ago I went into my local store and they had both the british tan and black Stewardess bags for sale. I think someone had bought them online and returned them. Yesterday I went back into the boutique and the british tan Stewardess had been sold but they now had a Mahogany Willis! I immediately took the Willis home. So, not sure how often this happens but people must be buying onine and returning to the store. :graucho:
