I don't think it would look too dated or too young. If it's a "good" pink, I think it will have longevity. By "good" I mean that it works well in a lot of situations and lighting and there is nothing annoying about it. For example, a deep blue-toned fuschia might be very sophisticated, while a brighter shade might be fatiguing. I would think saint laurent would make good colors.
However.... I couldn't carry it. I can't relate to fuschia in a purse. I do have a fuschia print top that doesn't bother me for some reason, very easy to wear, and some fuschia croc pumps that I love but am too shy to wear, but might if they were less pointy, and a few print scarves that I love that have fuschia in them. So I don't know what my problem is with a fuschia purse. I could carry a small, more flesh-toned pink purse.
I think you have to relate to the color to pull it off.
