Is Current Coach with Glove Tanned Leather Similar to 1941 Line?

I went to check out the Emery bag recently (glovetanned pebbled leather, tag with metal cap), and it did not feel as luxurious as the leather on my Rogues. To me, there was a definite quality difference. I'm not sure if 1941 or not 1941 even means anything anymore, but I feel that the leather just isn't the same. It felt much stiffer and almost a little bit coated, like the leather on the Charlies, for example, even though the grain was large just like the Rogue leather.
The shame is when they send a bag it ought to be what was advertised as 1941. I will always love Coach from Bonnie to Reed to Vevs as long as they listen to fans and maintain the quality. Everyone's pics in the last few weeks have been amazing, thank you, cos the UK site had nothing until Friday. Selfridges had two. Nordstrom wouldn't ship. Is that due to Boris? X

Has anyone noticed the difference between leather quality/types in Troupe Tote in Stone and the one in Black? Last year, I was looking at the black tote in the store, and the leather was buttery and nice. I purchased the one in stone when it already made it to FOS. When I received it, I was disappointed as the leather is definitely stiffer and not soft at all. Besides, the black tote had the stamp GENUINE GLOVETANNED LEATHER, and there is no stamp on the one in stone. Anyone knows what is the reason?
