Dear all dearies ,

I have quite a few bags from Chanel . Coco handle , trendy CC , mini flap , vanity , phone clutch , woc . Was thinking of selling my classic flap as it’s so common . Will I regret after selling ?

anyone also have the same problem like me

Given the never ending price increases, I would hold off until you are VERY sure.

Having said that, I would not recommend holding onto a piece in your collection just because it’s a “classic”. You don’t necessarily need to use it everyday, but it would be nice if it fits into your lifestyle somewhere.

Good luck deciding. I know it’s hard.

Do you love it? Does it fill a need in your wardrobe or get a lot of use? These are the only reasons I can think of to keep it. In my experience, once I start thinking about letting go of a piece, I will eventually end up selling it. The few times I have hesitated it has only delayed the process.

Normally I would agree with the other comments and say that if you don’t use it then there’s not point keeping it, however, in this case I would say keep it as you may love it in years to come. I sold a classic flap years ago because I felt it wasn’t really my style and I thought it looked too mature and boring. A few years later I really wished I’d kept it and I ended up buying another for double the price! It’s a classic staple - I would keep.

It really is dependent on how you feel about the bag and if you actually enjoy wearing the bag or not. For me, I'm actually considering selling my medium flap too. I've been a longtime Chanel fan and for whatever reason, took a long time to get into flap bags. I just find the flap inconvenient and always tend to use my Chanel totes instead. For that reason, despite the multiple price increases, I feel that it's wise for me to sell it. I don't care if it's a classic or not. If I don't love it, I don't want to keep it.

Does it make your heart sing? Keep a Classic Flap only if you love carrying it, caring for it, and dedicating space to it. True, Classic Flaps seem to always go up in value but if you're not thrilled to see it then maybe it's time to let go.

I feel like you always end up coming back to the classic flap as a Chanel lover. :giggle: For the longest time, I avoided getting a classic flap because I also thought it was wayyy too common. But in the end, I purchased one because I felt like my collection wasn't complete and now I'm in love with my beige clair (as basic as that can be).
