I think the two are very different bags. Lindy is much more casual/everyday bag whereas the CF is more ladylike (but you can definitely still dress it down/wear it with casual clothing). I think the M/L size would be the most versatile - you can wear it to evening/fancy events as well as casual during the day. The jumbo is a little too big to wear at night IMO.
i went to try both the jumbo and medium and I still cannot decide! to my surprise ,the jumbo is not as heavy as I would expect it to be.
i am leaning towards medium as I feel I can carry it double strapped ,side sling and crossbody whereas the jumbo just looks great double strapped . But then the medium is kinda small even though I don't carry much stuffs in my bag

i have a mini Rectangle , a medium coco handle ,
a denim Deauville tote and a leather shopping tote in my collection as of now ...which CF would be a better addition ?hahhha

I carry my medium double strapped mostly but the size has become awkward for me - too big for night time and too small for day.

It’s ok to feel indecisive! These are large purchases, and I understand how difficult it can be. My advice to you is to get what you want in the moment. Tastes change, trends change, prices change... You can never know what’s going to happen in the future. If it makes your heart sing now, it is the best decision for you.
If you want to hear details: Quality wise, yes, the Lindy is much better made, but they are totally different bags. I tried to see how much I would get back on a Lindy at Rebag and was offered less than half I paid! Not all Hermès bags hold value. Not all Chanels do either especially if trends change even though jumbo is a classic. I mean look at the Birkin 35. It’s a classic but some are selling at lot less than than the original price, because big bags are not in right now. The demand for Birkin 35 is not as great as a 30 or 25. It may change in the future, but who can predict such a thing. So buy what you like. Personally, I have a Chanel classic in m/l and I love it. I didn’t go for the jumbo bc I am petite. It honestly does not fit anything, but I purchased it knowing I was not going to use it everyday. Good luck! Let us know what you picked.
A lot of people have been where you are so don’t feel silly for being indecisive. It’s a big purchase. In the end you’re the one to decide, because you know best what you love and need.
M/L has limited capacity. Many said it has the same capacity as mini rectangle but for me it obviously can fit more. It just fit my daily essential perfectly but don’t have spare space for anything else (If I decide to carry additional pouch). Before deciding, I also tried both M/L and Jumbo. Jumbo is a big no for me because of the weight. I decided to buy reissue 226 that fits almost the same as Jumbo. In addition, I bought 227 too which some says fits the same if not more than Jumbo but much more lightweight and carry better (double strap, shoulder, and crossbody). With having many sizes I come to realize what I personally need and like. Anything larger than 226 I might as well go for tote (I’m eyeing Reissue tote or Lindy 30 at the moment). I see you have Deauville, med CCH and leather tote which I think covers large capacity bags already. Just based on your collection alone, I would recommend size in between your mini and other bags in your collection so it would be M/L for you rather than Jumbo. Personally M/L has more CF appeal to me but as Jumbo has its own hype, I just had to consider it. I saw some youtubers said medium CCH fit the same as Jumbo but lighter, in case you need to know. Let us know what you decide in the end. It’s always interesting to see other people’s perspective!
What size is your Lindy? Do you mind letting me know how much lighter it is compare to Jumbo? I’m considering adding a Lindy 30 to replace my 227 but afraid if it’s heavier. TIA

Honestly Chanel has been my fave since high school... But the constant price increases and continuation of MASS production is turning me off!! I hate seeing so many old classic flaps from seasons ago sitting on shelves.That being said, my jumbos used to be my fave, but they've been sitting on my shelves for the past 2 years. They're pretty bulky and heavy.
What material is your 227?
my calfskin reissues are definitely lighter than my caviar jumbo.
I think because of the chain link strap on the jumboit is much (I don’t have a scale that can give you exact amount) heavier than the lindy30.
my lindy 30 in clemence is heavier than my other lindy in evercolor..
i think you have to consider how you wear the bags too.. I wouldn’t mind a heavier bag if i can wear it crossbody (226) or hand held but not a shoulder carried..
My 227 is in aged calfskin. I believe it’s a lot lighter than Jumbo. I don’t have Jumbo but I tried some. My 227 is only 790gr while Jumbo is 1000-1200gr depends on the leather based on reviews I gathered here.
I also get mixed reviews about Lindy weight (clemence) so I would like to ask as you own both so your feedback is trustworthy! I really appreciate your reply. I agree that how we wear it can also make a difference.

I purchased my jumbo Classic Double flap in caviar a few years ago, it is my holy grail bag. I love it! The last time I was in a boutique the Classic flaps still looked beautiful. I do wonder about seasonal bags and craftsmanship, however it depends, I have seasonal bags that are beautiful. Go to the boutique and look for yourself, you will fall in love with one (or more).

Me too, not an Hermes fan, but love Chanel, esp. Chanel Jumbo, collected 20 jumbos through the years. But do want to get one Hermes Birken 30 in pink.
