Most comparinsons do not account for sales tax and unless you don't live in Oregon (is there a Cartier btw?) and consider all legal expenses you end up paying more or less the same.

It’s about the same depending on where you live in the US. If you’re in a high tax state it can be marginally cheaper as others have stated but not worth making the trip JUST for that - although I just got a Tank Francoise in Paris (at Capuccines location, thanks again @scheurin for the tip) and the experience was worth more than whatever I get as a VAT refund lol
Great to hear and I think you did a great decision to go there. The boutique doesn't look *that* attractive from the outside expecially compared to the Place Vendôme one but I can guarantee you wouldn't have received this kind of service and the gifts, too.
