Are there ladies here who are actually content with the bags they have at the moment? I realized I haven't wanted to buy anything for a long time and have enough that when I get bored, I can pull out one of the lesser used bags and satisfy the urge for novelty.

We're usually talking about what we want to buy and stressing over having too much, so I thought it might be nice to have a thread about being satisfied with what we have!

Do you mean like the thread where the ladies are shopping their own closet?

I'm happy. I can't believe I'm actually writing this, but yes, I am content with what I have. (I wouldn't mind a new Dior bag, but...)....for now, I got my HG (a Chanel), I have some beautiful choices in my closet from other designers, and that's it.

It's hard not "to look" out of habit, but I'm so happy with my Chanel PST right now and I've used it day/night since I bought it. I'm enjoying this phase quite a bit! (And so is my husband.)

I am. But I still need a couple more.

I have not found the perfect bags to fill the small and large "black bag with silver hardware" niches. Consequently I am buying multiple bags to fill the small bag niche. I think it's because I am not fond of simple black bags, so I need multiple decorative options to go with everything that one simple bag would go with. And I don't have a strong need for the big black bag yet. Which may not end up being black at all!

I talked myself out of wanting a green bag and a yellow or orange bag. I continue to search for the perfect purple bag, but I'm happy in not finding it. It's fun to look. I'm not sure how much I'd use a purple bag anyway now that I have so many blue ones.

(I did find the perfect purple bal once, but I didn't want to carry a $1400 bag. :p )

Yeah, I saw that one, but it seemed like a lot of people are just trying to manage their temptation to buy. I'm sure there is a spectrum in that thread (and some in the Holy Grail thread too), but I was curious if there are many people who just don't have the urge to buy any more.

Oh, and sorry for the typo in the title, everyone. I was on a smartphone. Where's autocorrect when I need it...

Yeah, I look too, but it feels different than when I am looking with the intention to buy something. It feels more like curiosity about whether someone has made an interesting object rather than a search for something to buy.

It's not like I will literally never buy another bag again, but it's nice to just feel like I'm missing something.

I am happy with what I have :smile1:

There is always room for one more (then one has to go), but I am no longer on the eternal quest for the next bag.

Not sure how this will pan out, as I have been building and refining my collection over the last few years. Whether I am truly content or this is just a brief rest from the chase, who knows!

Hopefully I will be in the the same place as I am with shoes. I love shoes, but once I obtained the perfect rounded collection, I now only replace ones I have worn out or got fed up with (after several years). I often browse, but don't find the urge to buy as I have all bases covered already!

Seems like you've already posted to this one: Will we ever be content with our collection.

And then, there are these:
Will The collection ever be complete?
"When Will We Be Satisfied?"
do u reach a saturation point???

Then, there are other, related topics:
2014 resolution - shopping from my own bag and wallet collection. Any one else?
What do you do after purchasing your holy grail?
I am going on a ban - who else is in? join me for a support group here

and so on... :smile1:

No, I see what you mean now.

YES, I can say I am content with my collection! Two bags, two wallets, and a 'night-out' bag, and I'm as happy as I can be!!!

:sunshine:

 I would agree!

Is that a Lab puppy in your avatar, or Golden? Very cute!!!
He's actually a white husky! But the ears were still floppy since he was such a baby.

Back on topic - I am not content yet, but my buying has definitely slowed down and gravitating toward higher pricing now. I want two of the cheaper Hermes bags and then hopefully I'm done. But I know realistically I'll probably never be done.

I am! This year I planned buying my bags differently - I made a wishlist of everything I want. And then I started to remove bags from my wishlist after the bag-fever wore down and I realized that while I liked the design, it was not for me.

Dior Medium Diorissimo = too expensive and I already have a Prada tote that serves the same purpose.
Louis Vuitton Sofia Coppola BB = wasn't available and for the price I'd prefer a seasonal Chanel
Louis Vuitton Speedy 25 in Empreinte = I'm not loving the infini because I wanted black
Louis Vuitton Epi Neverfull PM = too big

Now I'm back to being content :lolots:
