is a princess cut pair of diamond studs classic?

Diamond stud earrings are classic, period.
Get the shape that looks best on your ears. Try some princess cuts on--even if they are CZ to see what the size you like looks like on you. Then order from Blue Nile, which is a great company (with a great return policy)
Then post pics.
hehe. this is my plan!

I would love to try some princess-cut diamonds from Tiffany's but they aren't on stock in Austria.

So I will go to a Bijoux-Boutique and check the glass-studs out.
Since blue-nile provides measurements, I can compare the size of the glass-stud.

Right now I am wearing heart-shaped white Swarovski "crystal clear" studs.
a) like that I get used to a simple look
b) I can check if I feel comfortable with the size. I would consider them being 1.5 ctw. I will post a pic, in a new thread.

Thank you all for posting here and helping my making up my mind.

Since I won't buy the diamonds on savings I have time, at least until christmas, if not even spring!

I think they are becoming a classic. I have a pair and so do a few friends.
We are all in our 20's. I think round studs are more suited to older ladies somehow. I guess because the princess cut are more "modern" I think they look better on younger people.

I am in my 20's, and I prefer the RB. I am not a fan of lack of symmetry, and when the princess cut studs are worn, they spin around. It kindof bothers me to see that happen. I want to go up to strangers and fix their earrings for them.

I cannot wait to get my first pair of diamond earrings. Am going to try on some tomorrow. If I get the studs, will be getting round shape. To me, those are more classic, and I am in my 30's. Don't think age has to do with it at all, I think it is a personal preference. Diamonds are beautiful no matter what their shape ;)

Congratulations are in order for you to move forward with your first pair of diamond studs! :yahoo: What specs are you looking for?

Diamond studs are classic. Princess cut may not be the MOST classic, but they are hardly trendy. I was recently looking at diamonds for studs and decided my favorite cut for studs is emerald cut.
Definitely try some on to select size and shape. I actually decided to go a little smaller than I had thought because it looked best-I have really small earlobes.

I am going to try on a variety of diamond earrings (not just studs.) They have hoops, oval style hoop, teardrop shaped and studs. Quite a few to choose from. I think the studs are the most classic but still want to try on the others as well. I have really long hair, so sometimes it is a challenge to see my earrings through it :p If I get studs, am thinking 3 carats would be good. Not sure though, have never tried any on before.
