Is $500 too much for a FRYE bag?

Depends: Do you need to consider resale value, which will be shockingly minimal? You should expect a very significant depreciation. If this is of no concern, then sure. I wouldn't spend a lot for a bag in that category, myself.
I never buy a bag for the purpose of resale, no matter how tempting a deal. But I do keep resale in mind as I've had the experience of tiring of a bag and finding either resale value is low or no one wants to buy it.

Keep an eye on 6pm, they get lots of discontinued colors on Frye bags. And I see them show up at Nordstrom Rack on a somewhat regular basis (sometimes they're returns from the original retail store and you'll find them in the clearance bin). I'd wait for a discount.
thanks
I think it will be a while before one of these shows up at NR, unless a customer returns one and it shows up as refurnished
6PM - will check

I'd wait until it goes on sale or pops up on 6pm or ebay. Having said that, I rarely buy anything at retail price, so I'm probably an outlier. I almost always feel as if I'm getting ripped off if I pay full price, esp. for stuff that's made in China or other markets where labor costs are low.

Now that Frye is no longer a US owned company, almost all of their stuff is made elsewhere, except for some boot styles. All of their bags that I've looked at are made in China. They are nice bags, though, and the one you're looking at is particularly attractive.

I hardly ever pay full retail for a bag either. Probably most of the best deals I've gotten were at NR - not bags I was specifically seeking but ones I liked and were priced right.
There have been a couple of bags that I've seen at full price, waited and shopped for (not obsessively, just kept my eyes open) that never came up for a substantial discount. You just never know.

Good luck :smile1: It really is a good looking bag,

This is what often happens to me...I see something that in theory should eventually go on sale...it either never does or sells out first. Other things that I jump on right away are still around for sale time.

someone had the burnt red one on sale for a minute......that's a beautiful color but I think I'd get more use out of the brown one like yours
The dark brown is really pretty too. I wouldn't have chosen it from online pics alone, but I liked it alot in person. I really loved the gray but I have a few taupey-gray bags. Don't need another.

I didn't see the dark brown IRL but I have a couple of dark brown bags and my most recent purchase is a grey one. So burnt red or whiskey would be my choice.
