Intrecciato wear and tear

BV offers a repair and refurbishment program so I would think that they will make it like new if it is repaired. That’s what the SA told me and the prices appear to be quite reasonable so I’ve sent an intrecciato hobo to be treated in their spa and waiting on the quote now. It has no broken elements, it’s just a bit grubby so hoping for good things!

Hi @Nycgurl1 did you get this repaired? Any other positive or negative experiences? I just purchased a "new nodini" with a proper shoulder strap which is a feature I prefer, but maybe it's not the bag I should go for as an everyday bag. Any and all input is appreciated as I'm new to the brand!

Hi! I haven’t yet brought it in. Thanks for the reminder. Since the summer, I’ve used it once on vacation in October. Maybe I’ll bring it in in January. It’s really only noticeable to me, so I haven’t rushed to pay for a repair. Hopefully BV can do something about it for a low cost when I take it in. I’ll respond to this thread when I have an update!

To your question about this construction generally —The leather is super soft and the construction leaves a lot of opportunity for frayed edges because there are so many edges. That said, I wouldn’t have expected the type of wear on my bag for at least a few years of consistent use. It happened much sooner. Bottom line - be careful if you’re wearing jeans and letting it swing across your jeans back and forth. Also the edges can get kind of caught on button details or belt loops or seams on your pants or outwear. This can create subtle edge fraying that may be noticeable over time. I would just be a little mindful without being obsessive.

Thank you for sharing your experience. The bag meets most of my requirements and it was a pretty good deal so I'll keep it.
