I just found this thread after trying to make a purchase on the Intermix website with a gift card I received for Christmas. I got this message: Please note: Gift cards issued prior to March 27, 2023, are no longer valid. Please contact customer service with any questions.

I called customer service and was directed to the [email protected] email but haven't heard anything back yet. Do I have any recourse here? Since I didn't purchase the gift card, I can't dispute the charge. I feel awful and am beyond upset at Intermix because it was a really kind gesture from a friend when it was gifted to me.

Wow, that is awful. I’m sorry! What on earth is intermix doing They will have zero customers left if they keep this up.

Thanks for the heads up! One of the stores near me has the worst CS so I never bothered to give them a dime.

A few weeks ago, I saw a tiktok video ( the source of all news these days!) that intermix was going bankrupt. They closed more than half of their stores over a span of a couple of days, employees were not given notice or severance. So that may be why they arent returning the clothes or giving you your money back. I wonder if this will change once the new ownership takes over? I shop at intermix alot and they had been sending emails almost daily about sales. They really should have emailed customers telling them about the change in policies.

Just seeing this so I apologize for the late reply... but wow! That is crazy. You know what is interesting is that we have a brick and mortar Intermix locally, and every single time I walk past it - no matter the time, no matter the day - it's closed. What is also interesting is that the inventory inside is less and less each time I'm in that area. This makes total sense now!

Also, I too am getting constant emails from them about sales... despite the fact I unsubscribed ages ago.

So sorry to hear .... I'm not sure that you would have any recourse here. If your friend *by chance* purchased your GC via Amex, they would likely have recourse, but I realize that is unlikely.

So terrible! I have a gift card that I never used with over $700 on it and now I am able to use it.
