In my country just a few fashionistas know about all the brands mentioned in the article.
Of course most women have heard about RL shirts or CK jeans.... but they have absolutely no clue about their bags. They don't even know they have a bag line......

agree, there isn't much chat here about RL altho there is some (including an avid Prada collector who now prefers RL)

Fendi bags are nicely designed and aggressively marketed. But I can't bring myself to buy from someone who uses fur on everything. I mean of all the lovely things in the world why choose cruelty?
OMG Ralph Lauren has a version of their "Ricky" bag with lights in it and a USB thing to charge your phone! $5k. I've seen the regular version (I assume there's a regular, non-lit version) in magazines. Looks kinda Birkin-ish wannabe to me, but I must admit it'd be convenient to have a light and USB charge thing inside my bag! Maybe THAT's why RL is most talked about. I had no idea!

Like the bag but would never get that stuff built into my bag. What if it breaks. What happens a few years from now when USB is dead?
I can't trust the data unless I know more about it. The data came from NetBase, I can see HUGE margins for era. I take it all with a pinch of salt.
1. Which blogs, chat rooms, etc they used.
2. The methodology.
They could have searched 200M blogs on cars and a chat room that is devoted to electric guitars for all we know. Which blogs/chat rooms etc were being watched, could include 12 Calvin Klein sponsored blogs and only one alternative forum where people call themselves 'Ralph Lauren'. After all, obviously a computer generated the stats, it can only count the number of times searched words are used. How many times do we use 'H' or BV instead of hermes or Bottega veneta, how many times do not bother with using a brand name when in a subforum because we know which make we're talking about?
