Ladies,

I need some help - I'm looking for Indian earrings (the ones that you put in the earring hole and also "clip" over the top of your ear.
I can't find them ANYWHERE!

I can only find the ones with the chains that you attach to your hair.

I can't even find a good picture.....

does anyone know what I should be looking for, or a website that sells them?

thank you!!!

This may not help, but have you tried searching Google India? google.in?

Perhaps some of the real stuff in India would have stockists in your own country. Or on a worldwide etailer.

I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for -but there is a small chain (comes in variety of designs) that goes on the post of an earring, goes over the front of your ear, around to the back onto the post -and then you put the screw(back) on the post. They are worn with heavy earrings so as to take some of the weight load off the ear. They can be found in any Indian jewelry store.

thanks for your help ladies - I must find a better picture as I'm not looking for slave earrings and I'm having trouble explaing to people what I'm looking for....
I'll see if I can find a picture of what I want and I'll be back :p

this is more what I mean - only less "heavy"

but this is a clearer picture of what I mean by "clips over the top of the ear"

thanks!!

u sud go to a indian neighborhood where they have the indian gold stores... i live in New York, and the best place to go for the indian gold is Jackson Height, Queens.... they are 24k gold n really expensive.. good luck

You can check on eBay and just type in bollywood earrings. I'm sure something will come up. Also it's just a small chain that you can buy separately. The little chain has loops on both ends so one loops to the back post of the earrings (before you put it in the ear and the other loops over your ear and back to behind your ear before you close it.

Good luck!

The chain that goes over the ear is what I described in my earlier post. They serve as supports for the earrings, as those types of earrings are very heavy -I know because I wore them for my wedding. Maybe try googling for Indian jewelry stores in Holland?

here another one - BUT I DO NOT WANT THE BLING!!! :)
it's just to show you the "clips over the top of the ear" bit!!

Any "indian" jewelry store will carry these in gold or costume. The hanging baskets like things are called jhumkas and the post that comes over your ear is called a matils or saharas. These can come attached to the earring or separately with 2 loops to support any earring. You can get them as simple as a box chain or as elaborate as you want.
