Impulse buy - I love it but I cannot shake the guilt!

So, let's review the facts;
- you had planned on making a luxury purchase
- you spent double the money you had budgeted BUT have sold a few pieces and funded over half the price of your purchase
- you went for a color that's very useful in your everyday life
- you love the bag.

I don't see a downside..? You can always sell something else if you have pieces that don't tickle your fancy anymore to fund the Disco.
Just enjoy your gorgeous bag and stop raining on your own parade! :yahoo:

Yes, yes and yes! Sounds so logical when you put it that way LOL. I just did a quick 'inventory' of my collection, along with the prices I paid for the various pieces, and surprisingly, the number was not as shocking as I had initially anticipated, so all's good!

And like one of the comments above said, I can now hold this bag that I absolutely adore as the benchmark I measure my future purchases against, which hopefully makes me buy less but buy better. I just need to get over myself so that I can give this new purse the love it deserves!

Well there you go. Enjoy and don't think so much :biggrin:

one can't be a wise shopper until they learn from experimenting, impulse buying and heck make mistakes. do enjoy your bag. i just made a purchase too - a Chanel patchwork bag and it's not even my style nor do I like patchwork bags. BUUUUTTT the price is such a bargain that I know I can enjoy it for a few months and then re-sell at a profit :)

I don't "save" my bags, especially not the really expensive ones. To me heavy use justifies the expense. If you spend $1500 on a bag and only use it a couple times a year then it will always have a high price tag per wear but if you use it often then the cost per use decreases. I won't feel so guilty about my purchase then because I feel I'm getting my money's worth.
1000% agree!

Ding -I hope you love, enjoy and USE this pretty bag!!

Yes I will use this bag a ton - I chose this color because it was more versatile and something I could both use for work (on lighter days) and causally. In spite of me initially gravitating towards the flashier gold, I know deep down that I made the right color choice for my needs. Will try to post an OOTD when I break this out after my vacay!

You're right, sometimes we are cursed to make expensive mistakes, but that's how we learn (my boyfriend would totally disagree with his sentiment though LOL). Congrats on your new patchwork Chanel! I've always been in awe of the ladies who can pull them off!
