I had purchased the Gramercy bag (larger size, not mini) awhile back in the black cherry color. I originally wanted the oxblood but it sold out. While I'm not much for brighter bags this one took my breath away when I opened the package. I ended up returning her because I just knew I wouldn't carry her much due to the color. I also thought she was way too formal of a bag for my style....until I saw how many rocked her with their torn jeans and sweaters.....etc. My style is very casual like that.
Fast forward a couple of years to now.......I became smitten with the Fendi Peekaboo bag. Fell very hard for it's classic butIMG_5920.JPG edgy style. I also knew I couldn't afford one and that spending that much on a bag would make it impossible for me to truly enjoy it.
Then I remembered the Gramercy and thought of how much it 'mimics' the style of the Peekaboo. I really don't mind inspired style like some do so I set out to find my Gramercy and she arrived today.
This bag is utterly amazing! It's much larger than I remembered but that's o.k. with me. It feels like such a substantial and rich handbag. It will have tons of room for anything I may want to throw in there this Fall/Winter season and I added my own Mautto cotton webbing strap to 'dress her down' a bit. I know that the strap will come in handy for those times that I'll need to be hands free and the thinner strap that came with the Gramercy is not quite as comfortable.
Sorry to blather on and on but I just love this bag so much! I'll probably look for a couple of other strap colors to add in the future.
It's just so much fun to find your dream bag!

Thanks ladies, no the middle board doesn't make the bag heavy (not to me anyway) and I'll mostly carry it top handle but love the strap option because let's face it, sometimes you just need hands free. I think there is a bit of confusion over this bag also and the "board" in the middle. The stiff part of the "board" only goes down 2 inches and the rest of the divider is soft and pliable so it's not like there's an actual hard board in the center of the bag, it's only at the top where the turnlocks and handle gear are attached. I hope that makes sense.
And yes, the leather is amazing. I can tell the bag wasn't used much at all so it will be fun breaking her in!

Congrats on scoring such a beauty!!! I love the gramercy, too and regret I didn't get her while I had the chance. Wear yours in good health! :)
