That is great. I distinctly remember my mother taking me with her to the Coach store when I was about seven. I asked her why we were going and she responded that "quality was more important than quantity."
But I didn't get my first Coach until I saved for my own at 19. I don't mind teaching her about quality, but I DO want her to be old enough to appreciate it.
And that is so funny your daughter sews dust bags. My daughter LOVES to sew!
Well, the thing in daughter's case, is that if she were actually paid for the amount of work she does, she could have saved for them multiple times over already. She's a second degree black-belt, testing for third-degree in a couple months. She's their youngest black belt, yet outranks even her fellow highschool aged students. Besides taking her own classes, she actually helps teach a total of eight classes every week. (It's our home away from home.) They'd love to pay her, but she's legally too young. (Although one of the Shifu's keeps saying that if she ever needs credit for doing vollunteer/community service, he'll sign her off for it.) They literally give her a pack of kids to teach (many older than her), that otherwise they would give to an adult teacher if they had enough adult teachers on the mat at the time. Eight classes a week, even at minimum wage, would have bought her a slew of bags by now.
