Iggy Azalea explains why she canceled her tour
Iggy Azaleas decision on Friday to cancel her Great Escape tour shocked many of her fans, and now shes explaining what exactly went wrong.
Azalea told Seventeen that in addition to having a different creative change of heart, she also needed a break to figure out what I want my sound to progress to.
Ive been going non-stop for the past two years, nearly every single day, she said. Im not in a bad place. I think sometimes when you say you need a mental break, people are like, A mental break? Be sure you dont have a breakdown because youre sad. No, not necessarily. Its very emotionally draining to be on all the time and going all the time, planning all the time. Its a lot, and its tough.
There were also more logistic factors involved in her decision, including not being able to find two opening acts.
It just seemed like it was so many things pointing me in the direction of not doing [the tour], that I finally thought, when enough things come your way, you cant ignore the signs, Azalea said. Its not easy to decide that the best thing to do is cancel a tour, but thats the best thing for me. I dont want to disappoint fans. I feel really bad. It was a tough decision to make, but it was the best thing.
