So if you walked into Coach today to buy a bag which ONE would you pick and why? I'm having this dilemma. I am really liking the Kitt Caryall for $398, and the Swagger I like too. Really leaning toward the Kitt though b/c I like the center zip divider compartment. Just not sure if it's worth $398. does anyone have this bag? The Swagger seems difficult to deal with everyday b/c you can't easily put it over your shoulder.

There's not one thing currently at Coach that I feel I have to have. Maybe if I saw them in real life, I would feel differently. Don't be swayed by the opinions of others. Just because everyone else is crazy about the Swagger, it doesn't mean it will work for you. I try to resist bags I can't put on my shoulder. No matter how beautiful they are, I won't use them as much if they aren't easy to carry.

I'm not a fan of carryalls but I can see how people would like them. I don't think there is anything special about the Kitt. As I've said on other threads, I don't like cross-grain leather and I don't think it warrants the price. I would be more inclined to find an older bag on ebay that is higher quality for less money.

+1
I'm in the same boat. There just isn't really anything that currently speaks to me. (Which is why I've gone crazy buying older styles on eBay...) I used to feel like I had to buy what was current or popular, but now I just stick with what is comfortable and practical for me.

I've gone crazy buying older styles lately on ebay too. I bought the Kristin Sage round satchel in black, NWT. It's so beautiful and I use it everyday. I just can't myself to fork over the money for the Kitt right now, I just think the price is too high for that bag. I decided I don't like the Swagger at all though.

Right, If it can't go on the shoulder I just can't use it. So Swagger is out for me, don't like it anymore. What do you not like about the cross-grain leather? I'm not familiar with it. Is the quality not that great?

Coach used to use full-grain leather which is the best. Because it isn't corrected, they had to buy hides that had fewer imperfections and cost more. The leather used on Coach bags from the 80s and 90s was wonderful, and those bags are still beautiful, even these many years later.

The second best leather is top-grain leather. Coach used that type of leather recently. The leather is split into thin layers. It feels soft and smells great but there are problems with the edges wearing out because the dye doesn't go all the way through the leather.

Now Coach has cut corners even more by making most items out of corrected grain leather. For this leather, Coach can buy the cheapest leather available because it is processed so much that the imperfections aren't visible. The cross-grain hides the imperfections. It is processed so much, it doesn't look, feel, or smell like leather.

Is all the pebbled leather processed for texture? I'm thinking about the pebbled Dakotahs. That's one bag I'm considering. It seems thick yet soft. The description says "tumbled" I believe.

LOVE the leather on the Dakotahs. It seems rich and lovely to me.

I have the whiplash large wristlet/clutch and the leather is wonderful. I have the tall Tatum tote and the leather is also lovely.

Not a fan of the cross grain leather either. Don't like it on the Kitt carryalls but on certain Crosbys - love. Go figure.

There are quality pebbled leather bags. I have many really nice Coach pebbled leather bags. These aren't corrected grain leather.

Sailing in the same boat. Plus i whole heartily agree don't be swayed by others, you know if the bag feels right, we all have different tolerances.

The last Coach bag that i bought was a Phoebe. My bags need to go over my shoulder and be relatively light. For you since you are already questoning the Swagger, i would vote it out. As for the other one i agree with whateve, not a fan of the leather on it for the reasons she mentioned... But if you like the Kitt, go for it! I am waiting for something from Coach with a wonderful leather, minimal hardware details and a chic style...plus it has to be a shoulder bag. :)

I agree that there really isn't anything calling my name right now. The Swagger is cute, but I still think it is similar to bags in the past that I skipped over. Plus I don't really like the look of the zipper that doesn't extend all of the way across, along with the wings look on the side (one reason I didn't like the Crosby either). My most recent purchase was a Rhyder 24, and I ended up liking that one once I altered the long crossbody strap. But I think that is all I have seen of interest lately. I would like the original Dakota but don't like that the strap can only be long, so it wouldn't work for me.

I would count out the swagger!! It IS heavy and even with the cross body strap, it feels heavy. I typically don't mind heavy bags as I am used to lugging around a ten lb camera and lens anyway, but I am careful about where I carry it.

I personally love the Edie! It is super comfortable to carry.

Good feedback about the Swagger. There's another thread about the weight as well. I had the same dilemma about the Grammercy. Loved it but when IRL, it was too heavy for me. I just ordered the Edie with mini studs and will try to post photos when it arrives. I also have the Tatum tote in whiplash and love it. I'm on a ban now!
