If you could make a special order, sola in gold?

Hi Ladies, this is about a pear cut yellow diamond in soleste setting. if you could make a custom order at Tiffany and make it special, would you like to make the ring in gold instead of platinum?
My sa found a yellow gold soleste with yellow sapphire to show me. And I found a pic of yellow cushion in yellow vs white gold.

Would you stick with the original platinum setting for the pear? Or make a special piece in yellow gold? Or any other ideas to make the piece somehow special? Thanks!

They’re both special IMO. I mean you can’t get more special than Tiffany and yellow diamonds! Personally, my eyes are more drawn to the YG as the warmth of the metal enhances the warmth of the stone.

Since it kind of starts with a loose stone, they charge for same price either YG or platinum. So I wonder how I can make it unique and different from the regular ones without being weird.

I can’t remember where you can find this, but I remember another member having her yellow diamond pear necklace reset from a gold bezel to a platinum soleste setting. Might be worth trying to dig up the thread and see if she set forth her reasons for the change.

Just ordered mine in yellow gold two days ago. I start to think whether I should change to platinum LoL ......
I owned both platinum and yellow gold pieces from Tiffany but just had never seen soleste in yellow gold so I keep wondering what it will look like ......

Hi Ladies, Just to update that I received my soleste ring in yellow gold yesterday! The center stone is a vivid yellow, the slight yellow tone of the metal seems a good match. I like it more than the platinum setting~ thank you all for helping me decide. Just a bit upset that the halo is very small, much smaller than the ones I saw in store. Not sure what’s the reason that the band and halo are both very thin. Otherwise it’s perfect~

I think the ring is perfect. I personally don’t like a thick halo so this one is perfection.
