Here's the thing I love jewellery...yet I'm not sure I want an ering
Did any of you receive an alternative gift,if so what did you get...?

I was not sure about an engagement ring either. I really wanted a thin full eternity ring. My Husband on the other hand is very traditional and he wanted me to have an engagement ring, so that is what I got, and I love it!

I had a lot of traditional jewelry pieces inherited from my family and I just didn't want another engagement type ring. I opted for a YG emerald eternity band and later a plat. diamond eternity for a wedding band....eventually I picked out an antique cut cushion and a pretty traditional setting, but that was years after we were married. I like jewelry too, but I liked going my own way.

I'm dying for an e-ring!! Haha. But I respect if it's not for you. I like the idea of a pendant. How about this, if your SO wants to be traditional, you put the ring on a necklace?

I have an eternity ring for an e-ring and I also like a plain gold band worn alone. I'm not into e-rings either. I think a painting or piece of art would be a cool gift instead. A watch could also be good.

Is it odd to not always wear one

I'm feeling a little odd as well as my brother just got married last year...his girlfriend got a 2ct diamond

It seems to be a case of everybody expecting me to have the same...

I'm also not so keen on a traditional engagement ring. I'd love to receive (if DBF was also ok with it) a nice watch with engraving on the back (perhaps of the date we met, or something else significant).
