I don't even know what "real" hip-hop is anymore.

 I know what you mean.

Real hip-hop to me is the founders that originally started it like Kool Herc, SugerHill Gang etc. (and I wasn't even born then.....actually I was when SugarHill came out with "Rappers Delight" but Kool was before my time).

More modern "Real Hip-Hop" is Run DMC, KRS One, Beastie Boys, LL Cool J, Tupac, Dre, Biggie, Nas, Common ........ artists that actually have something intellegent to say/a message in the song AND have good beats/music behind it.

This Souja person actually had a song out called "Put some D's on it" or "Throw some D's on it" about him getting bad grades on his report card and making light of it. Wonderful! :push: Just what youth need to hear in this day and age when getting a good education is so important.

Given Dre's, Tupacs's and Biggie's message was sometimes rather violent and I certainly wouldn't recommend that for anyone under a certain age or anyone who can't discern whether or not this lifestyle is the way to go. The thing is, they were actually saying something in that the surroundings they grew up in/were around, were violent and most of the time. At least in Tupacs early songs, he made a point to let it be known that this ISN'T the lifestyle one should aim for. ..............The later songs, personally, I think he was still trying to send a message but it became the "cool", "in" thing to be a so-called thug which is what most of the people who didnt get the message were trying to do - be a "so-called" thug.

I dont understand why he is even attacking Soulja Boy? The kid is only 17 years old. For goodness sake, get back to your own business.

Very Lame.

I can't think of an old school rapper who rapped about killing policemen and then goes to clubs showing off this prostitute looking "wife" around would have any credibility as to what made Hip Hop go down the drain. doesnt make sense to me.

Guess he just wants attention. big yawn to me

Says the guy who made a career out of talking about killing cops?? Anyway, I agree with him to a certain extent. Hip Hop was on life support way before Soulja Boy, and there were many hip songs with simple lyrics that blew up back in the day too.

Lame indeed! and this beef stuff is getting old.

After watching & listening to Soulja boys response back to Ice-T, I now have a difference point of view towards both sides.

If you watch Soulja Boys video , towards the ending it gets heartfelt.(well at least for me it did) he was talking about how he's the role model for his little sibblings..hes the one taht feeds his family..and how he was broke and comes from the hood last year..and lots of people would love to be in his and ice t's shoes to have money and all that..and ice t tells him to go eat a d*ck. u gotta watch it to feel it!

ice-t done messed up. he shouldn't had came at soulja boy in such a hostile way tellin the kid to go eat a dick!

^^I agree LL!! I think Ice-T is just hating and needs to leave him alone. He was talking about how S.B. should "respect his elders".. blah blah blah and kept repeating the same old stuff on that video. Did you guys watch the end when Ice-T's son came on? LMAO. yeahhhh he's so hood...
