I would love to see comparisons of 07 Plomb vs 08 Charcoal vs 09 Anthracite

I really don't understand why they wouldn't let like 2-3 years go by before they put out another Anthracite. They put one out in 2007 along with Plomb and then we've had another in 2008 and now again in 2009? I get that the shades are going to be different, but we've already got a couple of deeper greys out there. And what happened to having bursts of colors for the spring collection, like they used to do. Aside from Mandarin, Framboise and Maldives, I don't think anything else is bright/light enough for spring/summer.

I agree with you.

Is it because that Anthracite is one of the best selling colors? It seems like they try to keep some colors as "classic" such as black, white, anthracite and charbon...

Anthra sold out on the Bal website, especially in RH and SGH which is probably the reason for it's return. I know I was stupid enough to buy two 08 anthras! And I'll probably have another dumb anthra moment in 09.

I do agree for the reason, how popular they r, and perhaps Bbag tries to push these colors as classic colors... But IMO, what they did totally decrease the value of Bbag.

I like finding my HG Bbags around the world.
I don't wanna feel like I am buying a LV bag that I can walk in the shop and buy it when I want!!

I know that the leather or the color shade of each year r different but what I feel for AnThracite ....

Wowwwwww I get AT07
okkkkk I get AT08 :sweatdrop:
welllll I can get AT09 (again) :push:
ooooooooops.... I guess I will get AT10 AT11 (again & again) :faint: RIP me. :roflmfao:

Actually I don't see much blue on 08 Charcoal, it's a dark grey and under non-bright light it's nearly grey-black...haven't seen 09 Anthracite IRL though, you can wait till someone posts the pic.

I just want to know which one of the 3 has the LEAST amount of blue in them, which is the truest grey cause thats the one I want.

^^ Definitely on point with what you said about Charcoal 2008. The one that really shows up as grey and it's a nice medium tone (not light like Argent and not deep as Charcoal/Anthracite) is Plomb. It's really a superb color!

Yeah but it's like DenMark said, if that's what they are trying to do then the bags ultimately lose their value. Some people go after their HG because of the year, others the leather and some are like me and go after it because of the color. So to have like 5 colors that are so similar to each other, just a shade or so off, is pointless. At least if they waited like three years or so and then brought out a color they had done in the past but put a twist on it, then fine. They want to bring back all the highly coveted colors so that people new to Bal get a chance to own something similar and so that Bal gets a cut from all of that. I say screw that and bring back what we've all been screaming for this whole time: PEWTER HARDWARE!!! How about that for a change? We've had Seafoam and then you decided to put out Vert D'eau. We've had Anthracite for three years in a row. You guys did Pumpkin and decided to surprise us with Mandarin (I like how it's bright and they put out another orange after a bunch of years so I won't harp on this one), we've had Yellow, Mustard the following year I think and then this past year we got Bouton D'or. And I don't want to touch the reds...too many red lovers and too many reds that are close enough to each other as is. I can't stress it enough (and I'm about to sound repetitive) but I want to see a hardware reissue and not a color reissue. I think instead of ranting and raving here I should just send this to Bal's headquarters.

This is a good representation of anthra/charcoal 08 taken in natural indoor light. Sunlight and flash will make the color appear more blue especially with gold HW. The color is definitely more grey IRL. Notice the color difference between the GGH work in my avatar and in the photo below (same bag). The avatar photo was taken under a very bright sunny skylight, but even outdoors in the sunshine it does not look that blue.

The prettiest bbag I had was a 2003 black city with silver hw. I agree about bringing back different hw versus same/similar color leathers.
I don't know any of the previous hardware :shrugs:- what caught my eye was your bag - anthra with GGH - this is what got my Bbag fever started and I have deep love for bags with GGH.

As a newbie - I find I'm attracted to how unusual some of the older colors seem compared to what we are seeing this season. I agree that all of the colors this season are not much of a departure from what has been done before. I have a much better understanding of why so many people have HG from previous seasons and how imperative it is to buy the colors you love when you see them 'cause it's very difficulty to find them.

Wow, could not agree more! :tup:Let them hear our voice! We are the only reason why they could keep producing and selling so many expensive bbags year after year!

Thanks! The GGH anthra is my favorite too. I got a new camera and have been experimenting with colors by taking pictures of my bags. The new one photographs much more true, which is why I believe more than ever now that different cameras and lighting can play tricks on us with colors here on the forum.
