This might be reading waaaaay too much into it, but the show takes place on a continuously running train after the world has frozen over- maybe heel tips are hard to get after the climate apocalypse and she has to make do?! I did think, man did she bring those from the before times or do they have M. Louboutin and his workshop on the train lol

I have seen it in more movies and series where they put a plug on the heel tips. maybe it's to reduce the clicking sound of the heel tips for the microphones.
or could it be some weird rule on workplace safety where heel tips must be at least of a certain circumference?
just guessing here.

I don’t have a good screen capture, but in Mission Impossible-Rouge Nation, Rebecca Ferguson shows red soles in multiple scenes....pumps, and booties.....also she takes off a pair of Gianvito Rossi booties as well....
