Michael Kors I saw bags at the MK store tonight that aren't on the website

Chrissy - I went to HR today and looked at some of the MK bags -- SO nice!! I saw the Hamilton that is $298 ($395 here), but no Mocha 
. I also saw the Jet Set Chain Shoulder Totes -- the Gunmetal was gorgeous! I took a look at the price, just to confirm that it was $295 and an SA asked me if I needed any help. I told him that I was just comparing the prices to what they are in the U.S. First he tried to tell me that they are the same (told me that he tickets them the MSRP). I mentioned to him that the Jet Set was $248 on the Web site, so he then tried to tell me that the Web site must be having a sale on it since it is an older bag. I told him that is interesting because they just came out on the Web site!! At that point, he just walked away .. LOL! I think I will stick to the standalone boutiques now ..

I've encountered similar situations though, and again, kudos to Coach for getting this right.
And to make it even worse, the medium leather Hamilton is $268 on the MK website, but it's $398 here. The Hamilton seems to be marked up more in Canada that the other bags and I don't know why - that's a $130 difference, whereas my ID chain was "only" a $50 difference. How do they justify that?????????
This makes me very happy about my $150 ebay purchase - and that includes shipping!!

I KNOW! It is ridiculous! I find A LOT of hot air in HR, so I think I will stick to the individual boutiques from now on!
I did see the Sequined Wristlet Crossbody for $68 ($58 U.S.) -- I can handle that kind of price difference. It was pretty cute, but only sequined on one side! Too bad the Hamiltons aren't $50 more or so -- $130 is NUTS! I wonder why this one is marked up so much like you said. Have you ever asked your SA why that one in particular is so much?
I really liked that Jet Set bag, but the straps look to be too short in length for me

Michael Kors boutiques and michaelkors.com are two different companies. michaelkors.com is owned by Neiman Marcus actually and sells different things sometimes. That's why you cannot buy anything from michaelkors.com and return them at the boutiques.
Hey Chrissy! Saw the Christmas book for Holts and it looks like the Large (not positive) Quilted Hamilton is $425 here
Well considering the regular medium one is $398 I guess that's not surprising.
I don't really want one now anyway - the more I look at the quilted ones online, the more I realize they aren't "me".
I know I'll probably end up with a bag of some sort for my birthday and/or Christmas but I'm not sure if it will be MK or Coach. Well if DH is buying it for me I know what he'll want to get me.
But some of the new Coach bags coming out in December look nice - the Kristins and the Alexandra totes. I do like the Java Kristin - if I could get it with PCE it would cost $250 with tax, whereas the Mocha Hamilton would be $450 with tax. That's quite the difference!!!!
Hmm .. perhaps you are right. It is so hard to judge on the HR site when they don't really give much information except for the name of the bag! I am not a fan of the quilt myself - kind of reminds me of the Ski bags that Coach has just put out
. I do like the Java Kristin; it is a nice option instead of the over-priced (here) yummy Mocha Hamilton!
I'm an idiot. I just checked my bill and it was $350, $395 with our lovely tax. I knew I saw $395, but that was including tax. So I guess it's "only" an $82 difference between Canada and the US.
I guess the quilted one could be $425 for the medium. Seems like a lot to pay for quilting.
