I was referring to silver. Silver’s paler appearance looks more vibrant and Pt’s softer appearance looks more understated. I think that’s why, besides price point, a lot of brands use silver for accessories marketed towards younger audiences. I would also say Pt is more durable than gold, and gold is more durable than silver.

Thank you all for your advice. I've decided to get a couple of chains from Tiffany, one silver and one yellow gold to start, both 16 inches. Will get white gold later. everyone!
