How about a compromise? You get a non Tiffany ER but a a Tiffany wedding band? I’m eyeing a couple of the bands myself. I love the Tiffany Embrace half eternity.

Plus also keep in mind DSS (diamond shrinkage syndrome lol) is very real. Lots of women can tell you about that. Even those that don’t like big diamonds sometimes wish they went as big as their budget allowed.

GL on whatever you decide! It’s personal preference, imo. Plus the heart wants what the heart wants. :)

I love my Tiffany engagement ring. It sparkles like crazy and I love knowing it’s a Tiffany. I never tell folks, and only few friends know. For me, it’s not about people knowing I have a Tiffany. For me.. it’s about me knowing. The ring is completely for me... I know I have a Tiffany and I love it!

I say get your Tiffany. There is no other if your heart is set on it. I was not even going to get a Tiffany, but now that I have one, I would never go back.

I would go down to VS2 H. You don’t need VVS2 clarity... their rings sparkle like mad (I compared stones).

Ask your SA to see some VS2 stones... it will be cheaper. Be patient if there is no stock. Tiffany is always getting new stock. And I would not get a SI stone for an engagement ring. Tiffany does not sell that lower clarity for engagement rings, the lowest is VS2. The low price in the no name stone is largely in part due to the SI clarity, and it’s also an I color. That SI1 I stone to me is not a high quality stone for a ring. People will disagree with me of course as some just care about size. Just my two cents.

I say get that Tiffany! Congrats to you!

I agree! I looked around at other places as well and was turned off by how pushy the jewelers were in finalizing the sale. It was the opposite at Tiffany. They were helpful and never rushed us. I was unsure of what specs I wanted so the SA requested a few options shipped from NY that she thought I might like. We went back when they arrived and she found me the perfect ring! I also love I can go to any Tiffany store and get my ring cleaned for free and it sparkles like when I first received it.

I see the majority is telling you to go a different route, but it really is up to you and what makes you happy. For me the Tiffany was worth it. Good luck to you and congrats!

I never regret that my engagement ring is not a Tiffany. Here's why:

1. No one know that your ring is Tiffany. All they see is the DIAMOND, size, clarity, and color.
2. More diamond for your money because you will feel DIAMOND SHRINKAGE SYNDROME. Trust me.

I do regret a few things about my ring though:

1. I should have find a larger stone and settle with I color and VS1 rather my F color IF clarity.
2. I should have bought Lab created rather than natural diamond because of better pricing.
3. I should have chosen 6 prongs vs 4 prongs for security.
4. I should have waited for Black Friday or Valentine day sale.

that's my two cent :). Hope that give you something to think about

Yeah but not everyone thinks bigger is better right? A large diamond doesn’t necessarily outshine a small one. I don’t know how important carat size is to me.

I found your Tiffany specs on a diamond from a well-known diamond site at a cost of $5513. The only difference is that the diamond is 1.00 carat, more than twice the size of the Tiffany diamond you’ve quoted.
I say this to suggest you continue to shop for the specs you want but look at other sellers, so you get more diamond presence without sacrificing the quality that you want.
Best of Luck!

I have a tiffany engagement ring.. i might confuse you more but here are my pros and cons (btw my husband chose it.. it wasnt something i necessarily wanted)

Pros: it has beautiful clarity and is veerrry secure! I have a .9 and i NEVER take it off (you cant lose a ring you never take off). I have a few friends who dont have a Tiffany and theyve bent their ring or lost stones.. i dont think ill ever have to worry about tht. Their free unlimited cleaning is also amazing and they check all the stones anytime you take it in.. usually takes max a half our and ive done it around the world.. and u can say its a Tiffany of course.. most magical engagement ring in the world

Cons.. you compromise A LOT on size for the price.. and you cant tell its a Tiffany by looking at it, I find it annoying to tell people so the luxury aspect of it is sort of lost because its not noticeable.. my biggest con is that you really cant reset it later on in the future if you want to upgrade or change the style. i mean i guess you can but youd either lose sooooo much money or have to spend sooo much money!

If i were to chose i wouldnt get a Tiffany after having mine for 6 years.. the blue box loses its magic pretty fast

Hey ladies, I’m new here.

Im in a bit of a pickle because I’m trying to decide between a Tiffany solitare or a no brand diamond.
I’ve wanted a blue box for quite a while, and do like designer items (obviously since it’s why we’re all here haha) but we are on a budget so we have to stick to that.

If I get the no brand I can get 40% more diamond for our budget but I would also go down in clarity a bit. If not, we’ll I can still get the Tiffany solitare but in a bit of a smaller carat.

I’m getting a lot of mixed opinions from friends and family. I’m also on the weddingbee website but they tend to dislike Tiffany rings there, not sure why. I know it’s ultimately up to me and what I like, but I’m stuck on this one big time. I do like a decently sized diamond but at the same time I love the timelessness of a genuine Tiffany.

You pay for the name at Tiffany. You can get the same quality diamonds for much less than Tiffany prices, but I completely get why you would want a Tiffany ring and the blue box is so cute. I think if you have the money, go for it, but if it would be an unjustifiable expense, go no brand.

Personally speaking, I would go for the unbranded version of your favorite ring style. I would hate to have to verbally tell someone who was admiring my ring that it was a Tiffany because I might mistakenly think that they wouldn't recognize one if they saw one. You can get your ring cleaned just about at any reputable jeweler on the spot, and I don't think they charge for that service because you just might be a potential customer.

My best friend of nearly 20 years is a fine jeweler. She and I had a blast going to Tiffany to try on 4-5 carat wedding bands to get an idea of exactly what I wanted on my finger for the rest of my life. Ultimately I picked out a ring that T&Co was asking double what she ended up charging to make the exact same ring custom for me. Not only did I get way, way, way more value, I also supported an independent jeweler (and my best friend in the entire world ).

I was on an extremely generous budget. Even with no budget and no personal jeweler best friend, I would still never buy a Tiffany diamond.

What about a non-brand diamond but get a branded setting? You can do a larger stone and a really great ring to boot.

There are nice settings out there from various jewelry brands. I got mine from A Jaffe at a local jeweler (Diamonds Direct) and received free aftercare for the life of the ring. My previous setting came from Simon G. And, Henri Daussi is another amazing setting brand to look at too- their Instagram is to die for.

For the same look, sure I could’ve gotten a no-brand setting, but I kinda wanted a brand and the aftercare service.

I'd say shop around for the size diamond you want first and go non-designer - the appeal of Tiffany is only the box IMHO. For me I wanted a conflict free diamond and it didn't help that the particular designer I was wanting was being rather snooty (terrible customer service!!) - so I found an antique 2ct diamond at a reputable etsy shop and they made my whole set for me!! Added bonus was that there was no tax (big savings!)

We would have spent closet to 20k at the designer... and instead got away with spending 8k.
