Interesting suggestions. I have been lurking because I'm also searching for small/mini backpack for myself, all my 3 backpacks are in regular size. I love most ideas suggested here, and very surprised Mulberry and Pashli are light weight! I always had the impression they aren't light. Unfortunately I can't try on as I live too far from big city that has designer stores.

I personally have been eyeing Mansur Gavriel but I might have to give up because they r almost impossible to get. The other Backpack I'm eyeing are:

Mulberry Cara, Pashli, Proenza Schouler, Sophie Hulme, Rebecca Minkoff fringe.
