I probably won't treat my puzzle, it gets a lot of use during the sunnier seasons for me (and I tend to wear lighter colours in summer/spring too), so I don't think I'd be pairing it with black or dark denim... I will also say in general I don't tend to treat my bags.
I know @880 has the mini version and has travelled with hers and it has held up really well...
