Congrats on a B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L bag and a great deal too! And a thousand thank you's, katev. Your story inspired me to check my outlet today and they had them too!!! They had the blue and white and an embossed in a tannish color. The blue is such a gorgeous color IRL and she had to come home with me. I'm so excited... what a special bag! Thanks again for posting!

Katev-
Question about this bag...what happens when the 'turn lock flap' is not locked, and it's picked up by the handle? I'm assuming it would tip over/open? Or does it 'keep it's balance'? I've been wondering about this since it came out. Just haven't picked up one as of yet.
Thanks a bunch!

Good question! My Sydney is full and I just tried picking her up with the flap unlatched; here are the results of this little experiment:

When I picked her up by the short handle, the flap rose upward about 2.0 inches above the turnlock, and she tipped forward just a little bit; but she didn't flap open or spill the contents. Didn't even come close!

When I picked her up by the shoulder strap the flap didn't move up even a millimeter (because the shoulder strap is anchored in rings at the corners of the bag and not in rings embedded in the flap - unlike the short handle.)

I don't know if varying the conditions will make a difference (weight of contents, softness of the leather due to wear, haste in picking her up, lift angle, lift distance, etc.) but so far the indications are that she a pretty stable bag.

That was fun! I love finding new reasons to appreciate this purse, thanks for asking about it!

Thanks for taking the time to check :) and reply with a fully detailed report!
It's great to hear you're (still) really happy with it. Need (could use) a dose of 'happy' to go around on the forum. I like that 'sydney happiness' is contagious!

I'm so jealous of you! This is a bag I had never paid attention to until I saw her in person. Never seen the Teal but I know I would fall head over heels w/ her.

I love all the compartments and details that were put into her. Congrats!

Interesting! I didn't know if my purse was a lone return of if these Sydney bags are now making their way to the outlets - which outlet did you see it at last week? Was it a teal blue leather bag, also? I'm sorry that you didn't get it (I would have passed at that price, too!) I hope that you will get lucky, too!

I GOT ONE!!! I went eventough they said she was gone and guess what...after waiting in line for 20 minutes just to get in there she was!!!! All by her lonesome! Well, not alone...there was 2 textured grey ones with her! I got my teal lovely! :yahoo::yahoo:
