I exchanged my Stanton Bag for a black bag *later I found out it was a Minetta*

There wasn't an official coach tag, only a re printed tag from a receipt which read as style "34343" and price was $275. SA gave me 25% off ringing to $206 no tax.

Blah blah, I go online *after i found out it was a minetta * and see my bag on sale for $220 with 20% off!!!

What! So it would be $177 give or take. So you know I had to get a price adjustment....

sigh!!!

I waited in the holiday lines come to find out.... the bag that was sku'd was the prairie satchel!!!!!

I have to now go to my original location and talk with the SA..... ugh.

Oh no! Did you want the Minetta or the Prairie? I hope you can get this straightened out; getting ripped off stinks.

I didn't want the prairie /: I bought the Minetta in physically have it but according to the system I bought a prairie...and I spoke to a SA from the macys I purchased from they said they'd correct it. Even if the sale ends and I have my receipts to prove I bought it on the 21st... I'm going out of town until xmas eve.meaning the earlier I can do it is the 26th.

Thanks for the moral support. Hoefully it ends well D: I'll keep you and anyone who cares updated. From now on I'm double checking if that happens again.

Hope you get this straightened out! This is what makes people like me stand in line with my smartphone out and read reviews and check everything about a bag before I even get to the register!

Let us know how it works out!

I totally should have done that! I usually always post TPF. I was in such a rush and from now on, I'm not gonna pay for a bag without a tag and just a receipt ticket printed in it's place ever again. This is horrible!

I was thinking of suggesting that, but I was afraid it was too out there. Glad to know I'm not alone in doing this! :D

I was too impatient to do this I should have. But I don't know if it would have made a difference cause I wouldn't be able to tell by the Barcode that it was the wrong one /: would I have? I guess I'd have to check the style number.

Ya, I Google the style number on the tag first, but I've never bought a bag whose style number wasn't on the tag. If the style number wasn't on the tag, I'd like to think I'd get it from the tag sewn into the pocket. But I've never been in that situation, and if I were and in a hurry, I could see not looking too closely until I got home, too. Now I know such a thing is possible, and knowing is half the battle!

Here's the reprinted tag. I'm guessing whoever reprinted this was too lazy to find the right bag code so they picked the closest looking one but the prairie satchel looks nothing like this bag! So,who knows what the real explanation is.

They don't match!!!

And it didn't even ring a bell to me until I went in store to get a price adjustment.

Here's my bag! Although it's the tan color so who knows if the black one is on sale but jesus! That's a big price difference. 25% off 275 or 20% off $220..cmon.

That's a $44 price difference!

Even on this reprinted ticket there's no information of who scanned it at one time so I might have taken a big loss by buying this bag!!

SO BE CAREFUL WHEN PURCHASING ITEMS THAT HAVE BEEN RETURNED WITH NO TAG AND JUST A REPRINTED TICKET.

Because I just got screwed over!

It's basically up to whoever I end up speaking too, hopefully I get the same SA that rung me up. She's my only witness who saw me purchase this bag as it and walk out with it. If the SA I end up with doesn't believe me how can I even prove that this is what happened ? Wish I was more cautious!

You can prove it with the video tape it need be. OK would be all sorts of crazy and just return the bag if I was passionate enough.

Further, the SA who was logged in to print the tag/process the original return should also be recorded in the system. Frankly, the store and corporate have lots prevention and inventory specialists for this very sort of thing, not all loss is due to theft but sales floor mistakes like this when people are allowed to manually enter things. How someone returned a bag on a receipt (?) or with their Macy's card that resulted in the wrong tag style number is just beyond me.

I can give them the benefit of the doubt though and say it was an accident and the wrong number on the screen was selected. I once had someone at a shop tell me my online order style numbers from their tags didn't match the receipt they'd provided so they weren't sure how to return it despite it being their own stock I'd only ordered 24 hours previously. They accepted the return but I won't shop there anymore for being made to feel like a criminal. The left doesn't know what the right is doing.

Again, wishing the best for you! SA might totally recall this and swap it out bing bang boom?!

Omg yes I didn't even think about that! I could always tell them to look back at the footage if they try to disprove me ! Lol !

No but seriously, I felt very awkward when I was at the front of the line in this packed store and the woman true to tell me the sku numbers were of a different bag as if I stole mine or was trying to do something sneaky.

Thank you so much, I hope my SA remembers too! Funny in the back of my mind something told me to go back to the store I purchased from for a price adjustment but then I talked myself out of it because it would be the opposite way of where I was headed on my road trip to LA.

Always listen to the little voice ladies lol.

Last week I had a bad return experience at Macy's too. Someone sent my DD a gift that she already had. I went to Macy's thinking I could return it since it had the little Macy's return sticker. The salesperson scanned the sticker said this had been returned already! Not possible since I know the person bought it brand new. So she asked if I can get the receipt or credit card used. I later got the email receipt from the person (so embarrassing to ask) and went back to Macy's. The salesperson said the system couldn't process it with my phone receipt and that I had to print it out! I lost it by then and told her we need a manager and no way am I coming back a third time. After a long time on the phone with the mgr and waiting for the actual mgr to come, my return was processed. My point is that their system and sometimes their associates are lame. Good luck with this.
