i wear them at work - but i only change into them once i'm here. *it works especially well b/c i live in canada and when the snow comes, i don't want to ruin my shoes!
but i've tried walking the whole day in my heels, but i only have about a 4-hour threshold. is that bad?
3 years ago I couldn't go in high heels at all. I mean it, at all, as mostly I was wearing flats. Then I started with kitten heels, then moved to higher ones...bit by bit. It took me I think 6-8 months to feel comfy in high heels.Even in the winter.
hehe, well i'm only 16 and have been wearing high heels for about 3 years now. I don't really know how i got used to them, i guess i just started wearing wedges and then after a while i got the hang of real heels.
It depends... before in Cali, i could run in stilettos. Here in NY i kinda switched up because the pavement is messed up. So it takes me about 3 weeks in the spring to get used to the height again since i'm constantly in flats 24-7.
get some of the full supporting shoe lifts that are mainly supporting the middle of the foot- taking away the pressure from the toe- area
I'm not talking about medical ones- I mean the ones you'll get in a regular shoe store
then you can walk for miles
changed my life!
absolutely!! I love love love heels - I have no problems wearing them at all. I've found that Banana Republic makes great (and relatively inexpensive!) shoes!
I just started wearing heels regularly a couple of years ago, when I found a guy who has great taste and loves to buy me cute shoes. Before that, it was mostly Clarks, Merrell, Born, and Birkenstock for me.
I've found it's easier to start with the more stable styles first, instead of wobbly stilettos. Wedges and platforms both fit into this category, and are also plentiful this fall. After you master those, you can move on to the sky-high f***-me heels! When you do go for the high heels, try to get the best quality you can. I've found that cheaper shoes tend to be much less comfortable.
I can wear 3"+ heels all day at work, as long as I don't have a ton of walking around to do. But I do keep a cute pair of flats in a desk drawer, just in case.
I've been wearing heels since i was about 15, so i guess i'm pretty used to them...however, now i'm turning 30 next year, i tend to stick to flats for driving and a 2-3 inch heel for other occasions. Give my back a break!:shame:
Unless of course it's an extra special occasion and i'm not driving - then i go for my 5" heels...
Wedges are a great way of getting that all important height without the ow-factor.
