How to Say No to your SA

If my deduction is correct about ONE of the possible ways of how Birkins are allocated to customers, there is one layer that we do not get to see. And that is the allocation of Birkins for SAs. In another words, which SA's turn it is to be able to offer a Birkin.

So in aspen's example, it could well mean that it was that particluar SA's turn to offer a Birkin to her customer, and that customer rejected it. This SA cannot knock on this opportunity twice. She would have to let it go, and pass it on to the next SA next in line.

Although SAs do not earn commissions on Birkins, they go get recognised for their monthly sales. And for this SA who didn't manage to sell the Birkin to the customer, she may have felt slighted. Because she would have alot of other customers dying for it, and she might have felt she placed her 'bet' on the wrong customer.

I just want to put it as a gentle word out here that, if you are not serious about wanting a Birkin in a certain colour, please don't give it as an option you would want. The alternative colour/s you give to your SAs should be colour/skin combos that you would like to have as well. And don't play games with your SAs.

Thanks to the TPF, people tend to go through the reveal threads and come up with a laundry list of colors/leathers that they would love to have. As MrS has put it so clearly but nicely, there is a "hidden" process of allocating birkins that we are not privy to.

It is perhaps best to avoid "confusing" yourself with 10 options in descending order because in reality Hermes doesn't march to our rhythmn unless we are VVVVVIPs. It's best to decide on a specific color/hw (or leather) or just say you'll take anything that comes along if you are not too particular.

Put yourself in the SA's shoes. The bag is in your list of choices and yet when offered to you, you declined it.

I say take the bag and I agree with MrsS. When I ordered my first birkin, I also gave a list of around 4 colours (I wasn't so picky on leather) and finally when I got the call, it was a colour that wasn't my #1 choice. My SA was very nice to also show me 2 others (totally not colours that I was thinking of ie. Vert Anis and Turquoise) and so I went with the one on my list because I knew that if I didn't take it, i might never get it again.

So i think go for it - u might not get another call till a year later and by then, you may have changed your mind about the colours again and would need to reassess the situation again. =)

chicpurse - you have been given sage advice here from very seasoned H campaigners.

If I might just add it would be worth going back to the person who referred you to this SA for their recomendation on how to handle this. You certainly wouldn't want to tanish their reputation with the store.

you got reffered to the store
you gave options of bags you would want
now you get it oferred

easy take it !
otherwise you are a nilnumber client sorry to sound harsh but you put yourself in not so nice linens if you reject plus you may really tarnish the relations the referrer has with the store

and i wholeheartly agree with lovely MRSSPARKLES only ever order things you will buy and forget the list in your head as long as it is on the list it should not matter in which order the bags come in otherwise you may never get a bag at all cause h does not work like this
