How to Authenticate Matelasse Bags

This is my personal two cents to this thread.
I've just bought this matelasse in the outlet here in Italy near Florence an it has few differences from the matelasse i'm used to see here in the forum, so i'm posting pics, hoping to be helpful for the future of autentications

Here is my lovely new baby











As you can see it has a chain shoulder strap and a lock (with the key) as clousure

numbers in the back of the leather tag are: 168029.002058

hey, phebe. your purse looks very similar to the one that i just purchased online. mine doesn't have the rope-like handles, either.i got a bit nervous as to the authenticity simply because of the handles. yours is beautiful. what can you tell me to look out for to know if it's the real thing or not??
i will post some pictures of mine as soon as i get it
