How strict is Hermes online with returns?

My Chase purchase protection goes to $10K as does my Amex. So the OP may well be able to claim. I know someone well who got repaid on an expensive item eaten by their dog.

That's right for Sapphire Reserve. I must have been looking at Preferred.

I know it's been awhile but I wanted to chime in and say that Hermès gave me a tough time on returning an item I received clearly used. To add to that, I didn't even actually try it on. I ordered Santorini sandals (Orans with ankle straps). It arrived with creases already and the gold sticker on the sole already faded. It was the last pair.

If OP had contacted H right away after opening the box & sent images to H that would be a different story
& perhaps the return might be accepted

I did this and they still didn't accept the pair (that I didn't want to return, anyway!) for return. I posted all about it in https://forum.purseblog.com/threads...o-you-draw-consequences.1043996/post-34640413.

Seeing that the OP may have received a clearly-used item, as well, I would not suggest buying online at Hermès for big ticket items (which is most of their things lol).

Hi all, I purchased two pairs of Oran in different sizes as I wasn’t sure which would fit. The first pair I tried were perfect so I didn’t even bother trying the other size and planned to return the ones I hadn’t tried on. However, my little nephew got the sandals out of the box without me knowing. The carpet must have had some water droplets on it as I’d got out of the shower just a few minutes before, so when I looked at the soles there were some water stains. He must have put them down on the carpet. They have now dried out but have left some marks. I will attach a photo. Do you think I will be unable to return them? It’s really annoying because I didn’t even try them on! TIA.

Hi, what happened with your oran return? I have the same problem now, one of the sandals got 2 small marks and now I don’t know if they will return them, the size is too big

Unfortunately if something gets damaged in your possession, it can’t be returned to most places.

The soles of the shoes are not in the same condition as they were sent.

If they became marked while in your possession, it cannot be returned.

Yes, they send it back to you unless you can get a chargeback first.
