2)And what was it? = Louis Vuitton Cabas Mezzo & Speedy 30 - both in Monogram canvas, bought them at the same time

OK.. If we are talking any designer ANYTHING.. It would have to be when I was 12/13.. Took a trip on the Concord with Mom and I had a LV Keepall..

BUT If we are talking carried in public alone.. It would have to be my LV Pochette when I was 15.. I wasn't a girly girl back then so carrying a bag was alot for me. I didn't know or cared to know what handbags were...lol

That thread is for designer bags. A lot of us older "girls" started carrying purses at a young age (perhaps a mother's hand-me-down) before the designer craze (sorry for using that word, but some of those prices!) came into play-not all of our families necessarily had that kind of money either.

For me, all I remember is that it was brown, vinyl, 2 straps, top clasp and was a hand-me-down from my mother...and I absolutely loved to carry it around! I felt like a grown-up woman-one of the best things was the "click" of the clasp when I closed it-the sound of a woman closing her purse used to be one of those sounds that, when you heard it, you knew exactly what it was. Are there any other older "sisters" here who can back me up? :smile1:

I was 15 and bought a gray leather tiny shoulder bag during a trip to Germany with my family. I followed that up with matching gray leather stiletto pumps at 15; I always did like my accessories, even if it meant saving money from my after school job for a month or more.
