1) I'm 52, and I think I was either 19 or 20 when I got my first designer bag.

2) Back in the day, all the girls at my college wore either Etienne Aigner everything - bags, shoes, wallets, etc. - or Coach. I had one Aigner handbag and one beige Coach - closest style to it today would be a Legacy shoulder flap, and even that isn't quite accurate. If neither of these counts as a designer bag, I'd have to say my Vuitton Speedy 25 that I received for my law school graduation.

3) Six, including the Vuitton, which still looks great after 27 years. One Coach, one MJ large MP, one MbMJ patchwork convertible clutch, one Longchamp large pouchette, and one Cole Haan Village flap bag.

4) One accessory - a Cole Haan slim clutch wallet that I bought because it was the only one I could find that had 16 slots for all my cards. I tend to kill things like key pouches, so I gave up most accessories.

5) I don't know what I want next - thanks to tPF, I've seen so many beautiful bags!

I was 18 and it was influenced by my aunt!
2)And what was it?
A Dooney and Bourke "IT" bag that was VERY popular in my area! Like I said, my aunt kept talking about them and I got really obsessed with it and finally took the plunge and bought it (at only $150)!!

12 currently
4)How many accessories (wallets..etc)?
I have 2 wallets and 3 mini skinny/clutches by different designers...but, I have some keychains by Coach and Juicy and a JC charm bracelet, not to mention a ton of costume jewlery by JC and some by Chanel. I also have 1 cashmere Burberry scarf, 3 silk burberry scarfs and a burberry umbrella.
5)What bag are you dying to get next?
My Holy Grail would be a classic Chanel or a LV...I think my next bag will prolly be either another MJ (I just got my first!) or, saving up and finally getting a Gucci!

1) I'm 28 and I got my first designer bag when I was 16.

2) It was a Dooney and Bourke.

3) I have 29 bags in my collection

4) I have around 8-10 designer accessories

5) There's nothing I'm dying to get right now. I'm just feeling my way along until something grabs me.

I just snagged 2 that I've been stalking, a Juicy tote and a LAMB bag, so it's going to be a little hard to justify another one so soon, but I think it's going to have to be a Goyard Jeanne.

Gucci black python with light gold hardware - $3690
or Louis Vuitton Vernis - Brentwood or Houston - $1,580. These two/three I probably will never spend hard earned money on. :rolleyes:

I have a wallet, a keychain, and a wristlet from coach...so far that it on the accessories...

I'd really like either the large black madeline tote, or the large coach ergo...I can't think of the style, but I just saw it on the boards the other day and loved it.

3, I like to keep it around 3 -4 and sell my old bags to buy different ones always.

I own one balenciaga wallet in EB, it is like my wallet/clutch and one MJ quilted leather makeup bag/clutch

5)What bag are you dying to get next?
I really want a baby stam in some deep purple colour, ideally thought I'd like a small box shaped purple quilted bag with a long chain shoulder strap, don't really care for the brand I just want the damn bag. :push:

Worth mentioning (ie: designer anyone might care about)? Probably 8.

Not a big accessories gal. I have a wallet and coin bag that I have been carrying a couple of years now that are holding up great. Somewhere around here I have my former wallets I carried around for ages....shoot, one is a D&B from the late 80's that is still in great shape...even if it is a hideous 80's blue color ;)

5)What bag are you dying to get next?

Right now...none. I had just a teensie bit too much fun shopping this weekend, got myself a Chanel fix and so I am good for a bit.

2 wallets, 1 daily planner, 1 passport case.

I don't know but it will be a gray bag.

4)How many accessories (wallets..etc)? An IT Crystal watch from Dooney & Bourke,2 Wallets and a few wristlets, charms, and scarfs by Coach... Some jewelery from Juicy... 2 pairs of Chanel sunglasses and one pair of Marc Jacobs sunglasses. I have a few other accessories, but these are my favorites :smile1:

5)What bag are you dying to get next? I'm saving for a LV... an Azur Speedy 25 or a something Mono. I'm currently a broke student, just finishing high school and relying entirely on allowance. I might get a Juicy bag next though.

It was a gucci, I think the style's called 'abbey' in beige, the one with little D ring, still one of my favorites :)

I can only remember 4...

Surprisingly nothing! I'm very content after getting my EB RH, I don't even want anything at the moment...

Wow, I feel so *old* and out of it! I got my first designer bag at age 47. A Dooney cabriolet canvas bucket bag. I saw it on QVC, but I bought it second-hand on ebay. When I got it I was like 'Wow! This is so well made! Why have I been carrying ratty little purses all my life?' That's when I started noticing other women's purses, what I liked, what I didn't. A whole new world I never new existed.

My DH claims I'm shopping challenged and maybe he's right. That's why I love this forum, I can get ideas. :drool:

I don't want to know how many purses I have. Too many. Several Treesje's, Cole Haan's, two Betsey Johnson's, in addition to some vintage Dooneys from ebay. Plus all my backpack purses and canvas LL.Bean bags.

I don't have any accessories except for a few very cheap no-name wristlets which I use as cosmetics bags.

I'd love a Mulberry Bayswater. Maybe when I pass the half-century mark. Or as a reward for getting through menopause without killing anyone. :rolleyes:
