I would say that I buy about two expensive pieces each year. I have pretty much stopped buying cheap jewellery, I do not wear it often and I have too much of it laying around. I prefer saving for pieces I really want and know I will use:smile1:

not too often - dbf usually gets me a pandora charm at all holidays or special events, and i usually buy myself some earrings when a pair catches my eye. i'm not too much of a jewelry person, but i'm thinking a diamond ring might be coming in the near future :graucho:

I don't buy costume jewelry because it never gets worn, I always choose my fine jewelry over it. . .
We may buy a new piece for me once a year, maybe twice, really depends on how pricey it is.

I only wear fine jewelry since most costume jewelry irritates my skin. I don't buy fine jewelry for myself. I don't know why but I never wanted to. I usually receive items 2x a year from family and SO for my birthday and christmas.

My boyfriend gives me 2 lower priced but real (ie gold with diamonds/genuine gemstones) for my birthday, our anniversary, and holidays. I don't want him to spend a lot of money now... save it for the the engagement ring!

My parents give expensive diamond jewelry for milestones like graduation from college and grad school (solitare earrings/tennis bracelets), and less expensive, but very nice jewelry from Tiffany's (silver collection) or Ross Simon's gemstones.

I buy myself costume jewelry, but when I earn my first big promotion and salary increase, I plan on buying myself a right-hand diamond ring to celebrate. I wish I was in the financial situation to buy myself more jewelry. I don't like waiting on a man!

On average, probably two new items per month. It's a little different for me, though. I'm not a normal consumer and I come across a lot of items free or for less than wholesale (anything from collectible Bakelite vintage to 2+ct diamonds and everything in between).

I was buying like crazy last fall. Like one fine jewelry every 2 weeks. But that is OVER. Im happy with my peices I own now and of course would love more, but thats not happening for a while. I just got trunk show pics from Ippolita and Im dying. I love her stuff.

I have just bought two rings from an antique fair... but that is probably the first time I have bought fine jewellery for myself in about two years...

I received a beautiful links of london silver necklace from my mum at Christmas.

I normally only buy myself 'costume jewellery' - I like big chunky necklaces from marni and bought 3 recently. I am lusting after the Hermes rivale bracelet next :love:
