How much are import taxes when buying pre loved from overseas?

Unfortunately duty is 20%! At least in Ontario. It will depend on what the seller declares. I just paid $73 on a $285 purchase CDN. But some people pay less on higher purchases (or even none). If they use DHL you have to pay over the phone in advance too or they return your shipment after 5 days

Thank you for this information!

I have contacted seller if they can put a low price tag on the shipping label, if not I would like to cancel the order.
It is not worth to pay 1220 * 20% = 244 and plus other fees on a used bag.


you paid 25.6% tax! wow


The high import tax really scares me out of buying from overseas.

The only problem with them doing that is that the insurance will only cover what’s declared

I have been searching online. I am NOT in Canada but it looks like Japan to the USA is 20%. I don't know how accurate this is.
