How many clutches is too many?

Honestly I like having a lot of clutches. They are small and store easily and I have fun looking through them to pick one for special events. I also think they are useful for vacations so I take more than 1 when I travel. I also tend to buy wristlets when they are on sale and I keep those for when I need to give gifts.

I'm finally to the point where I will only buy a bag that I love. If I'm on the fence I won't use it or take the tags off unless it is a keeper. I went to the outlet and found a cross body that I love and was able to return one that I was not totally in love with. As for clutches/Large Wristlets, I have like 8 or so. I love most of them, but the ones with the wriststrap tend to be uncomfortable to carry due to me over stuffing them. I don't use them often and because I keep them stored away I honestly forget about them. Then I will look at them and think i could have use this or that one. My plan to use one every Friday for casual Friday at work has not happened that often. I made the mistake of buying them because they were cute and at a great price, but not always practical because sometimes I find them awkward to carry. They are awesome for special events, even if they don't come around but a few times a year. So to answer your question If your not using them then you have to many, don't buy anymore.lol Thank you for this post. After this Friday(because i want to use my new crossbody :D) I'm going to make a conscious effort to use my clutches if not every Friday, every other Friday.

I usually don't like simple rectangular clutches - foldover or envelope-flaps are OK. They're too easy for me to put down and forget, easy to steal, less cute than a proper messenger/shoulder bag... which is why I have 0 suitable ones for partying! Major wardrobe gap.

For a crossbody-loving girl, maybe 4 clutches is too many. 2 is just right.

I don't think of clutches in the same way as handbags--I think they are a fun accessory for those days when you want to travel light. I have two large Legacy clutches (saddle and black) and a Kate Spade Book Clutch (LOVE) and I really enjoy them. I think if it is stressing you out, it's time to sell them. Each person's threshold is different. I don't like having too many bags so I get overwhelmed kind of easy whereas others might not. You should enjoy your items, not feel overwhelmed by them. If selling or donating a few would make you feel better, I'm all for it!

I can relate to a lot of this! I sold a couple of clutches because I barely used them, even when I wanted to take them on Casual Friday. I replaced a couple with small crossbody bags; I prefer to have my hands free, especially since I take the Metro daily. I still want at least one fancy clutch for special events though: weddings, fancy dinners...
