My 3 year old was digging in my jewelry box and ran over to me with a bunch of rings and put one on each finger. "You leave them on," he told me. So now I feel like I'm in my early 20s when I totally would have worn these in public like this. I don't remember the last time I wore the silver ones!

haha flashback!

I used to be into big rings and thumb rings when I was in grade 8 and early high school. when I started getting into fine jewellery I bought big topaz rings and silver yurman style pieces...now they sit at the back of my jewellery box never touched!

Awwww, Junkenpo, that's such a cute story!

Candice0985, I totally understand. I recently found a thumb ring that I wore for an entire summer (back in the day), and never wore again. Thumb rings are just too "young" for me now ;-(

When I was a teenager I used to wear a bunch of silver dangle earrings with stars on them. That was about as far as my jewelry went. Now (mid-20's) I like to wear pieces that are either quite classic (solitaire pendants, stud earrings, pearls) or that have feminine/vintage details (I LOVE milgrain, filigree, floral, etc) and I am a yellow gold girl.

exactly1 I used to love the woven raffia friendship bracelets as well... my friends used to make them and hand them out to each other. we were too funny!

one of my close friends has recently gotten into raving she is what people call a Kandy Kid...she's big into making beaded bracelets so I have a few from her and while I don't wear them it reminds me of elementary and high school

I'm going through this right now. I went through my first adult buying stage when gold was (relatively) cheap so the majority of my jewelry is yellow gold. I've been in the mood for silver lately and dug out the old teenage stuff. Not a bit of it I would wear. So I need to go out and buy grown up lady funky casual silver (tricky to find). The 13 year old niece was very happy, particularly since we share initials and I evidently had a thing for monogramed jewelry back in the day.

I still wear my thumb ring and I am 39. I also wear a pinky "midi" ring and have for 10 years now. I have however taken out my cartilage piercing in my right ear.

did you have any jewellery that you wore when you were younger and you look back and think omg...what was I thinking!?

I'm 28 (birthday is today! :D) and I can already think back and laugh at some of my choices!

In my early 20's, I was big into wearing large silver hoop earrings. Those did a number on my ears and now I can only wear studs. I also used to love wearing long necklaces.

I like classic, simple pieces now. Things that won't go out of style like pearl studs, etc.

My style hasn't really changed... I always liked more delicate jewelry for me, though I admire all kinds of styles on other ppl. I tend to try and buy more precious metals now (mostly white gold) but I still succumb to the odd tiffany silver purchase every now and then, especially when I have been on this forum too much but don't have a huge jewelry budget set aside but want a little something new and shiny :p

My style hasn't really changed...but thankfully my husband has caught on to what my style is! I have a lot of older jewelry that was never really my style but I wore it, and loved it, because it was from my hubby. Now he lets me pick!
