I’ve asked before about how to pack lambskin Chanel mini bags for domestic traveling in an airplane (by myself without my kid), so now I know how to handle that.

Now this situation is going to be more complicated since my 4-year-old will be with me for this long-haul international flight. It’ll be approx. 11 hours in flight and another 3-5 hours in the car or inside airport with suitcases, stroller, and kiddo stuffs.

I don’t think wearing my lambskin mini bag will be a good idea as my main purse since I’m expecting a lot of bathroom trips with the little one while taking care of lots of other stuffs; however, leaving it packed and stored inside our carry-on (which will be left inside overhead compartment in flight most of time) doesn’t sound that good neither.
(and of course, worse if left inside checked luggage)

Could anyone share your experience about how you packed your cute bags during that kind of trips? I’d really love to wear mine while having coordinated outfits!

Thank you in advance for sharing your experience! :flowers::heart:

I usually bring a carry-on and a personal item (which is usually a large tote bag) onto the plane. I have a prada nylon tote that is perfect for this. Inside the tote I house my smaller bags in their dust bags and with their proper stuffing. I usually only take 2 smaller purses in the tote so I need to prioritize before packing hehe. I like to keep anything of significant value (monetary or sentimental) close to me. I have not packed anything of value in my checked luggage for a long time, a lot of anxiety about lost/stolen luggage when traveling internationally!

I agree about putting the bag in carryon. Just make sure you are not crushing it. even if you stuff it, there can be damage to the quilts. I took my very first Chanel flap to Japan and on the trip home, I knew it was packed in too tightly and sure enough, the quilts looked a little deflated when I removed it from the case. I subsequently stuffed it up and used the heat from a blow dryer to repuff them.

Like everyone said, pack your bags in your carryon, stuff them well, and avoid overpacking. I have not travelled internationally yet but I took 2 Chanel Jumbos and a Lady Dior (small size) in my carryon for a trip within US. The single flap Chanel jumbo got squished and developed creases on the bottom. And I stuffed it very well but it probably got squished. The double flap jumbo and Lady Dior were flawless. The quilts were not affected at all.

I packed it in its dust bag and always in my carry on! My carry on was a duffle so I had to be careful with any pressure on it and I cushioned it with clothes around it too. I also packed it so it was upright. It worked well for me! I made sure to not overstuff my duffle either. I did not put it in the overhead, instead under the seat in front of me on the plane. I also kept my socks in the bag.

I would pack mine in its dustbag with all its stuffing and felt to prevent any marking from chains etc and then place it into another fabric drawstring bag. It will go into my carryon suitcase at the top so the bag isn’t crushed by anything on top when the suitcase is upright. I travel light and never check a bag but this also means my carryon is usually quite packed to the brim depending on the trip. If that’s the case I just won’t travel with a Chanel bag - I would rather go without it then worry about crushing it! When I do travel with a Chanel bag it’s usually my reissue 225 in aged metallic calfskin. It’s smaller and sturdier and I’ve had it for a long time so don’t feel like I have to baby it too much!

I have two very active boys (4 and 6 yo). I've never traveled internationally with them but I've traveled domestic with them plenty of times (usually 4.5 hr flights).
I put my chanel lambskin mini in its dustbag stuffed slightly with the original paper stuffing. Then I put it in my goyard Artois. I carry my goyard Artois onto the plane with me. I haven't had any issues. I also have a ton of other stuff in my Artois too but I put it in a way where my mini doesn't get smashed
