How do you like your Dinky?

I love my Dinkys! I typically bring a Coach market tote to work (lunch, water, book, umbrella, makeup pouch, phone charger, scarf) plus I take a small crossbody like the Dinky or Soho (phone, keys, small card case, tissues, compact, lip gloss, sunglasses clip). The small crossbody size of the Dinky works great for me on my breaks so I can just grab and go - so easy. I have downsized a lot and I don’t miss hauling around so much when I run errands or take a walk.

I finally pulled the trigger on a dark berry Dinky with the summer sale. Have been looking at these bags for a while, have gone through all the topics related to these bags, but still wanting to hear more. How do you like your Dinky bags? What all fits and what do you carry in it?
I hope you love it! I've only seen dark berry in pics, and it looks gorgeous! I didn't know I could love a small bag so much. The Dinky is just so beautiful! I love the style and the leather, and it is a really carefree feeling to only have what you really need. If you use a a card case or use the kisslock pocket as your wallet, you'll have more space in there. It holds the essentials, depending what you need to have with you.

Sorry to hijack someone else's thread, but in a similar vein, how heavy do you find the Dinky? I keep trying them in store and they seem to weigh so much just empty. How heavy are they to carry around for a day when full?
Oh no, not at all heavy. I mean, I can feel it when I have stuff in it and after about 3 hrs of shopping I do have to switch in to another shoulder but I don't think they are heavy at all. Try a Rogue, or any Dooney satchel lol. I am slowly steering away from those just for that reason. The farthest I go with any satchel is from my car to my desk at work and back. Otherwise, it's a Dinky or Riley.

The regular Dinky is basically a wallet on chain to me. I have the Chalk Tea Tose version and I think i’ve only carried it once. My daughters have used it a few times each.

I would only use it for an event or dinner out. Nice for a summer wedding when i only need my phone and small charger, compact wallet, lipstick and blotting sheets. I fit about the same into my Lady Dior clutches but they are dressier.

The Dinky 24 is a workable small bag; I carried my black one on vacation for a week. I don't use them much either truthfully, but I'm glad I have them. I'm just not a big crossbody person and I often just go up to a bigger size like a Rogue 25, Speedy B 25 or Neo Noe when i'm using a smaller shoulder bag. I used them more when my daughter was skating and I didn't want to have to hold a larger bag on my lap in arenas.

The Dinky feels like a feather to me, but then I am used to carrying big bags like the Rogue, large Swaggers, and others...

Thanks for the replies! Good to know! I realise it's all relative, too. I use the Noa and Sadie crossbodies, never a Rogue or a Parker, so to me the Dinky felt comparatively heavier in the store and that's what got me wondering.
I'm glad to see that it is still lightweight when used all day. I may have to add a Dinky to my wishlist

My dinky came in, but I'm debating on sending it back. It's very, very tiny. I'm trying to talk myself out of sending it back because I love the color and the look, however I'm not sure it'll be super functional for me. Even with only my sunglasses (in a drawstring pouch), keys, iPod, cards/cash/earbuds in the kisslock, phone in the outside slip pocket, it is cramped and difficult to close. Second photo does not include my keys. I'm trying to see if I'd be ok clipping my key loop to the little ring that is for the hangtag, but it's noisy when I walk so I'm unsure. I feel like I can force myself to make it work, but it would be inconveniencing at times. Going to give myself a couple of days to think about it.

This type of bag isn't really designed for sunglasses. You can make it work, but it works better with handbag essentials like card case / cash, phone, and some small extras. But keep in mind your phone might fit in the back pocket...that is where I put mine. As for the keys, even though I don't do sunglasses in mine, mine is comfortably full with a mini skinny, med card case, a few extras in front like pen/chapstick, and phone in the back. Keys will fit, but often when carrying the Dinky I don't put my keys in as it makes the fit a little tighter.

I love the Dinky, I just purchased my 3rd one in the Berry as well.

I think of the Dinky as something that’s a bit more purse than a wallet on a chain would be. I use it for absolute essentials I’d need on an errand, a stroll, shopping or lunch. Everything else that I might want with me but don’t want to lug around I keep in a large tote that for the most part just travels from my house to car and vice versa and my Dinky just gets tossed in it. That would be things like my sunglass case, cosmetic pouch, medications, etc.

In my Dinky I put my phone on outside slip pocket, inside are my key case in front gusseted pocket, and 2 card cases, blotting sheets, and decongestant in the main. I keep a deluxe sample lipstick in kisslock or a full sized one outside of it. My obnoxiously bulky keyless entry car key I have clipped to the inside snap loop in the main.

I recently purchased a Rogue 25 and it seems so enormous and like too much bag for my essentials now. I feel like I have to pack more than I need in it for its size to make sense, but it’s not large enough to ditch the tote. So I have my doubts that it’s going to hold the same place in my heart that the Dinky does.

Good luck with whatever you decide, let us know!

I have the larger dinky and I rarely use it. That being said, when I do use it I think its a great classic looking bag that is easy to wear. I love the leather on it, and I feel like it will stand the test of time. I've given up on smaller bags like the regular dinky because I can't fit the things I need now (eyeglasses mainly). Now that you've reminded me, I think I'll pull her out tomorrow and use her.
